  1. Pats draw first blood....nice hold by the Ravens though!
  2. I actually was able to meet "Pearl" Washington. My step-aunt was his tutor and we met at the end of his freshman season. I still remember the press conference he had just to announce he was choosing Syracuse over St. John's. Remember that half court shot to beat BC? Still smarting after last nights loss, but good to get a loss out of the way and get back focused on the national championship - which, btw, they need to learn to rebound in order to achieve!
  3. Ed Reed is AMAZING! Go Ravens!!
  4. The Magic have now won 7 in a row! My son (who's 8) and I were fortunate enough to get courtside seats for this past Tuesday's game vs the Bobcats. Great game and lots of fun, it was his first NBA game ever! Some Magic personnel asked him if he wanted to stand with the players during the national anthem. He was right in front of Howard.... The experience has renewed my interest in the league.
  5. Nice story and GREAT picture!!! Congrats on meeting one of our idols!
  6. "No Quarter" - San Diego '75, one of my favorite versions!
  7. Barbara Eden trumps ALL though! I can't decide if what Ed Reed is doing is getting Flaco fired up or not - something's gotta change with him. He's got all the tools to be a great qb, but still makes bonehead decisions (like my boy Tony Oh-no). The Ravens have the offensive balance to beat them all - just the bonehead mistakes and some strange play calling seem to hold them back!
  8. Man, how bad is your memory - I'm from right around Syracuse! I know all about the hillbillies in the western tier!
  9. Isn't the whole western section of NY state hillbillies????
  10. I have decided that New England will defeat Baltimore. The Ravens will not be able to create as many turnovers as needed to offset the fact that New England is a scoring machine - too many weapons to cover. I'm still sticking with SF over NY in a close battle.
  11. Or just gamble..... As I said, I hadn't seen much of the first half - but then again the Beverly Hillbillies is classic and so are The Munsters!
  12. I have been watching the replay of NY v. GB on the NFL network, since I didn't see much of the first half.....the Pack had NO pass rush! The Giants will NOT have that luxury this weekend, plus the weather leading up to the game says slow trek - which hurts Cruz, Nicks and the rest of their playmakers.
  13. ^ Did the same thing for Page/Plant in '98 at Tampa. Ending up sitting next to where Robert watched the opening group - Lily Hayden - and then her group sat next to us to watch the P/P show!!
  14. I also think the how emotional it was for the Giants to go into Green Bay and beat the Packers will have an affect on the G-men this weekend. If SF controls the line of scrimage, which I think they will, it will be a 49'ers win by 3 or so.
  15. Back in the days of Manley Fieldhouse - the "Louis and Bouie Show"! I remember that team well, even though I wasn't even 10 yet - Marty Head, Eddie Moss, Roosevelt Bouie, Louis Orr, Dale Shackleford, etc...... Carrier Dome came in 1981 - remember the multi-overtime game vs. Villanova for the Big East title at the Dome in '81? Leo Rautins, Tony "Red" Bruin, Eric Santifer... Great "Orange" history!
  16. Aren't there also rehearsals out that took place in Chicago before this final leg of the '73 tour? What do they sound like?
  17. ^Agreed! I'm gonna miss the battles with G'Town, 'Nova, the Johnies, UConn, the Hall, etc....but it'll be good to see them against Duke and Carolina to measure up for the tourney! I BLEED ORANGE!!! Glad to know we have two things in common dazedcat!
  18. ^Is that even f'in English???!? Please excuse my ignorance in the world of gambling.....
  19. Ed Reed is f'in AMAZING!!!! Go Ravens!
