  1. Nice and upbeat, I like it. "Appalachian Mountain Side"?
  2. Any Dead fans out there might appreciate this one ^^^
  3. My fav WLL medleys are: MSG 9/19/70 (eve) Tokyo 9/23/71 Leicester 11/25/71 - "Going Down", "Rave On", "So Many Roads/Lemon Song" sound so damn good, in fact it's all amazing, listening to it right now .. Bradford 1/18/73 - I love how tight, swaggering and confident this one is, it sounds "just right" to my ears, it's been my fav for years and years LA Forum 6/3/73 As far as other fav "cover" moments, I love "It's Your Thing" in Communication Breakdown from 6/27/69 BBC Communication Breakdown medley from Blueberry Hill All the Eddie Cochran ones they did
  4. My fav is SRTS. I love the ethereal sound of it. NQ is a close second.
  5. Was gonna post this on the 25th, the actual 50 year anniversary of the show but didn't have time. This is one of my all-time fav Zep shows, highly recommend giving a listen! The band sounds as good as I've ever heard them and Plant really gets going starting around SIBLY. Some of my fav versions of SIBLY, Tangerine, STH (amazing solo and Plant hits all the high notes), DC (incredible), Celebration Day (a unique version), CB (Page is unreal), WLL (smoking Goin Down) and R+R. Yep almost the whole show lol:
  6. Lookin good! I had key lime pie (made the real way which is rare here in Cali) with a protein shake for breakfast - just because. Gettin out of town for the weekend, but we're getting a 5 course thanksgiving dinner from a restaurant near the BnB. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  7. Giving this bad boy a listen on its 50th anniversary. Man, this sounds like a special night. The boys seemed to always play well in Manchester. I don't usually listen to this one due to sound quality, but I've got the headphones on while working and .... damn. If this were better recorded, it would easily be a Top 3 show for me. I personally love this tour and the more intimate atmosphere of the shows (as well as Back to the Clubs 71 and UK 72/73 tours).
  8. Checked them both out. And now I know what's going on the playlist when I get out of town for the holidays. I'm glad my car has a good sound system because I will def be turning up that bass. 👌
  9. At my funeral, there are detailed instructions for a 16 person gospel choir to sing Salt-N-Pepa's "Whatta Man" LOUDLY. If the police don't show up, they won't get paid.
  10. You were never 5 years old? Or 10? When you're a kid, your listening tastes are a bit different. The brain likes what it likes. If I met someone today who was 25 and shrugged at STH, I personally wouldn't have a problem with that. There are folks out there, believe it or not, who don't like Led Zep at all. And that's ok. It's ok to have different listening preferences, we're all different LedZeppfan1977. That's cool that it's your favorite song. I like the live 71 versions quite a bit.
  11. As a kid, I loved the guitar strumming section where Robert goes "makes me wonder". I still love that part today, it sounds like quintessential early 70s California rock (coming from an English band) .. laid back and chill. As far as the song as a whole, I was never super enthusiastic about it compared to other songs. However, this year I've developed a new appreciation for it from listening to a lot of live Zep from 71. Performances of STH from that year really bring the song to life, sound fresh as it was still relatively new for them, and has the same feel as on the album. Some of the live 71 versions are downright magic to my ears.
  12. That's a funny coincidence! yeah, he posted something earlier today (see above) in the Afro-jazz arena. I mistakenly thought Dorothy Ashby was also African (just going off the title above) but nope she's American, my bad. All great stuff tho!
  13. That's crazy that you were actually there. I know you were at a bunch of shows but only read the post you did on the 6/3/73 show (one of my all-time fav Zep shows, along with Leicester 11-25-71 which is the Bad MuthaF-ers boot I'm listening to on/off today) ... which show do you remember the most fondly?
  14. Looks like John M started something here lol. This is also dope and love that theremin on Soul Vibrations.
  15. Yup. They played it Leicester and Bournemouth as well, then never again.
