jmorton
Here are a couple CP outtakes that I stumbled across on youtube... "Good Love...Bad Love" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZMw-KsSykE The famous "Saccharin " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiynA_a_vx8 I've heard both these before...along with the acoustic track "Southern Comfort" and I can see why DC spent so much time in legal wranglings with Geffen to gain possession of these tracks. While "Good Love....Bad Love" is typical Coverdale banality it's got a great riff and melody AND he sings it very well (maybe he should have someone else write lyrics for him?) "Saccharin" is a FANTASTIC riff...although it sounds like they weren't finished with the song. Great song. Make's me wonder why they didn't put any of these outtakes on the official album in place of Feeling Hot? Jeff
Evster2012
Nice job by Purplesnake putting that vid together!
ally
Gotta agree with ya Jeff, both should have found a way onto the album. Saccharin is a deadly riff IMHO, it would have been a far better choice to have made it than It's Over Now Thanks for posting the links
jmorton
Nice job by Purplesnake putting that vid together! absolutely! It looks like a professionally done vid...big kudos to him for putting out. It perfectly fits the song.
Zepp-4-Life
We super appreciate any new links that provide new JP listening. This is the 3rd unreleased track / song from the Coverdale / Page era. Southern Comfort http://www.ijigg.com/songs/V24FBFFP0....Nevermind Question is, does this version feature Jimmy ??

Southern Comfort http://www.ijigg.com/songs/V24FBFFP0....Nevermind Question is, does this version feature Jimmy ?? I don't think so. The track itself says "Acoustic Demo 2001" in its title, but then that might just be when Purplesnake got ahold of it.
swandown
I have my doubts that "Good Love Bad Love" features Jimmy (there were a couple Coverdale-related websites that labelled this as a solo demo by Coverdale only). However, "Southern Comfort" definitely features Jimmy -- it's the exact same version that was posted in the Coverdale/Page section of Coverdale's own website a few years ago. reids
Thanks for providing the links for these three tracks. Does anyone have the other 3 outtakes/demos from JP and DC? R
FireOpal
That's Mr. Page playing on Saccharin, innit? No - I'm hearing a whammy bar, I don't think that's Jimmy.
Chicago
That's Mr. Page playing on Saccharin, innit? No - I'm hearing a whammy bar, I don't think that's Jimmy. That's totally Jimmy Page on guitar. Playing as Coverdale phrased it " Crunch Guitar." A whammy bar isn't foreign to Jimmy. Listen to The Firm's "Cadillac" as he's all over the whammy bar in combination with the wah pedal. For Your Life anyone? Saccharin is a song that Jimmy and David talked about in their 1993 Guitar World Exclusive interview. They both sounded as if they really wanted that song to be released and may, at that time, been looking at it for the second album which, sadly, never came. As for Southern Comfort, how can anyone listen to that and not tell it's Jimmy?
