You have to love that...

And people wonder why they didn't do a lot of press back in the day...

It's because of shit like this and the headlines about Plant calling a "reporter" schmuck and that goofball from Ireland making Rory Gallagher the headline and lead of his story. It's a wonder they still put up with it.

The reason for the press conferences is the Celebration Day film and dvd release of the O2 concert they performed in honour of Ahmet Ertegun. Not to pay tribute to Rory Gallagher. Not to speculate about another reunion.

Will Berlin and Tokyo be any better? Perhaps, since most of them won't be there anyway.

I think the best answer they can give to the reporters is "This is the reunion. Here we are the four of us together. If that isn't a reunion, they tell me what it is?"

This is preferable to any other bitter exchanges with the journalists.

On the topic of Jimmy Page saying no to a reunion he hasn't categorically said yes to it either.

You'll have to excuse me I haven't watched the conference in its entirety, for some reason some sort of migraine yesterday evening sent me early to bed, I want to see and hear the conference to make my own opinion about that schmuck incident.

I kinda see what you mean, but...

This is a one of the top headlines on Yahoo! as well:

and?? who even cares about the other headlines? The simple point of Wolfman was that Zeppelin is floating around so prominently right now and that they get loads of recognition. It's wonderful to be a Zeppelin fan these days..

To be honest back in the 70s it was only the British press that didn't give them the recognition they deserved. It took them all their time to let us know that they were performing overseas. I have a John Bonham interview and in it he states that the press over here deliberately ignored them. No wonder they did more tours in the USA.I now ignore any remarks made by the press on any music matter. It will be interesting to hear how they review Celebration Day. I bet the US comments will be far better than the UK ones.

Don't be so quick. Two 40-minute press conferences couldn't have been just about one gig. It was one fucking gig. They did hundreds of them back in the 70s. I think all of the questions regarding the stellar 2007 gig were answered in the London press conference.

P.S. The question about Rory Gallagher wasn't that bad.

Thank you.

It is when you make that your lead paragraph and headline of your story. That's hack journalism and provincialism at its worst.

I know a little something about journalism; I know about the 'Who, What, Where, When & Why'. You don't bury the lead. The press conference was about the O2 show and resulting concert film.

The fact that the Irish Times used a Rory Gallagher-slanted headline and chose to make him the focal point of the story shows they had an agenda different from the cause of the press conference.

When reporters bring their own hidden agendas to the conference, they shouldn't be surprised if they're greeted with indifference or scorn.

I guess you're right

But Led Zeppelin's amazing legacy will carry on no matter what! Jimmy, Robert, and JPJ don't need Yahoo! News to do their PR work for them
