Geezer Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1887878/ The Romantic and Epic Story of an Italian Soldier in the First World War based on the song "Stairway to Heaven". Quote
tazulike88 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Judging by the names of the characters, Soldier #1, #2 and #3 ... i don't think it's gonna be that big a hit. Quote
DAS Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 I'm curious to see how it will relate to the song at all as more information becomes available. Quote
Triplet Kick Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Um, a brief check of the cast's and crew's extremely limited filmographies does not flag this production as anything too related to Zep. A title does not a movie make, and to make a film "based" on Stairway To Heaven? They may as well have called it "Custard Pie". Sorry, but it's unlikely that there's any story here. Happy to be wrong, mind. Quote
Strider Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Might I remind you all that there is more than one "Stairway to Heaven". Before Led Zeppelin recorded their "Stairway", there was a "Stairway to Heaven" in the 40s, and Neil Sedaka wrote and recorded his "Stairway to Heaven" in 1960. Given the fact that it was also given an Italian title, "Scala al Paradiso", and that this film project is Italian, I am guessing that it is Neil Sedaka's "Stairway to Heaven" IMDB is referencing. Except if you look closely at the cast entry, it lists: Original Music by Colin Davis (background music composed by) Led Zeppelin Edited October 23, 2012 by Joe Bloggs Quote

Beckenbauer 6 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I'm not totally excited about it Could end up ruining the song for a lot of people. But, have to wait and see Quote
