Stryder1978
SO sorry for friends and family across the Pond. I'm not a big follower of the Royals, but the Queen was such a class person...I will miss her!

Strider
Just got out of a Robert Bresson movie and heard the news of the passing of Jean-Luc Godard. He had a good long life and you just knew the enfant terrible of the French New Wave would not go out in the conventional way. I cannot think of Godard without also thinking of Anna Karina. She was to him as Diane Keaton was to Woody Allen. And, like Woody Allen, I generally prefer Godard's early films. When he starts waving Mao's Little Red Book around in his movies I think of John Lennon's line in "Revolution": "But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow." Anyway, RIP to the last of the French New Wave. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/13/movies/jean-luc-godard-dead.html Edited September 14, 2022 by Strider
