lzfan715
>I think if that staement is purely based on the look OUTSIDE, it's dead wrong....the spirit of those times you either had it INSIDE or you DIDN'T. "Feed your mind"!! :) I didn't make that statement from the outside appearance of people. I wasn't there, and I only know what was told to me. A lot of hippies dressed like him because that what there was. I meant that as more people were "square" than there were hippies.

Mind you, there were many "fake" hippies in those times too (e.g. Sonny Bono just to name one! ) who were not trying to "drop out" but "drop INTO" the System....and that lot are the ones who are ruling us today!!! It's important to remember that even Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman eventually became part of the system. What better way to affect change than from on the inside? lzfan715
She was pretty. I had in a book that she wore big sunglasses to hide her face because she thought she was so ugly.

lzfan715
You said that on Box Of Pearls bonus disc that there is a movie of Maybe. I don't have a DVD in my version. Is the movie playable if I put it the cd in the DVD or if I put the cd in a computer with a DVD drive?
lzfan715
Sorry. People say live and I think movie. And yes it's 5. It's okay to call me Alicia on the board too.
Jahfin
Apologies to those of you from the old board that have heard this one before... Years ago my older brothers thought they would surprise my sister by buying her a ticket to see Janis in Chapel Hill one weekend when she was home visiting from college in Vermont. My brothers arrived at the airport in Raleigh but couldn't find my sister anywhere. Eventually they decided to check the airport lounge. Lo and behold, there she was sitting with Janis tossing back drinks. Apparently they had met on the plane and my sister had tickets for everyone to see Janis that night. lzfan715
That is really outta sight. I know no one says that but this is the Janis thread so I will. I wish I had that kind of story, but I don't.

I do like Janis, and I am proud to say that she is from Texas, as is Buddy Holley, and ZZ Top!
