Nitpicking Page 1985- Live Aid
kirchzep27 replied to gibsonfan159's topic in Pre / Post-Zeppelin Forum
Great review My favorite part of live aid is jimmy page singing backup vocals on whole lotta love and then head banging -
Interesting in retrospect for led zeppelin Although the 1988 robert plant shows were noticeably louder than jimmy pages 1988 shows
-
To promote his own site, all he would have to do, is post clips of his zooma tour, a one man bulldozer...
-
Gallows Pole, i guess this was the song where page and plant were missing bonzo and jpj the most, with their own led zeppelin in the 90s
-
How many more times, black dog, the song remains the same, carouselambra
-
If it was, sick again, custard pie, or the rover....that would have been awesome

But do we need the rolling fucking stones....reminding us that its a ghost town and this is a totally messed up situation? I would think a young hot band, wouldnt even want to write a song about it. But after, look what the cat dragged in, the rs are writing about any fucking thing. Also, god bless them

I totally agree with op, if "anything" it should have been a revolving song spot, just for physical grafitti songs!!!!!!!!!!

Actually in isolation, i thought of an idea of a theramin cast in aluminum nickel or steel, whichever metal would work the best, in the shape of the presence object....painted matte black of course. But i could see such an item on ebay, being a must have for zep geeks man caves, all over the world. We could make 2 models, one that gets hooked up to a stereo system and one that can be set up to guitar amps.- 113 replies

Robert Plant "Non Stop Go" Tour 1988
kirchzep27 replied to SinceIveBeenLovingU's topic in Pre / Post-Zeppelin Forum
The plant and page, gamblers blues medley was a very interesting blues dirge from that time1988, jimmy implementing his prison blues on that jam. My brother had the bootleg on vinyl at one time, and now i notice on youtube its only got 400 plus views, such a shame. -
I am surprised the stones upper management, public relations and human resources dept signed off on that song Question being.......is this necessary?
-
On the first photo, jimmy is thinking....wait a minute, if i stand up maybe it'll sound better On 2nd photo, fuck this gimme the mandolin boe makes the setlist, bigly goes dormant for decades Actually bigly imo is maybe the most memorable live song, of the page plant era. They poured alot of energy into that song in 98 and that band, played that song very well.

Hey Hey What Can I Do - Closing Zep III
kirchzep27 replied to 1998giventofly's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
^Speaking of the weird world of led zep, hey hey and travelling riverside and poor tom have the same element of fun that was very clear early on for them, cause they were so good together. Its totally there on the songs page and bonzo did with lord such also. Yet that light hearted element is implemented very sparingly throughout all of the records, good times, living loving, dancing days, crunge, ocean, mmh, candystore, hots on, southbound, fool So i totally agree that hey hey, should have been on 3, it would have totally made that record more memorable, accessible. Also, now that i think about it, it does have a end of movie, credits rolling aspect that would work as a closing song. Yet with that, i would suggest another upbeat song like travellin riverside and an edit of an acoustic song or 2 . -
Yes, why is it an all digital recording? I never read the liner notes Please excuse me for being an old ornery lz fan. I saw 2 robert plant shows in 88 and the shows were great, have really nice memories of hearing, in the mood and in the evening and all the zep songs. But that album was always an effort to listen to, for me. Those shows were loud and guitar and drum heavy....but those couple of albums lacked the vibe of fate of nations and mighty rearranger. I think mtv news said it best in 1988 when they interviewed rp, they said, " his own brand of electronic rock." Also, am not a fan of the keyboard sound on those 2 records, to me rp was in a post shaken n stirred mode. Although, if he had a few songs off now and zen on shaken n stirred, with that band,, it would have been a better record. Still, a remastered video of "tall cool one" .......to me, could be posted in the, " is led zeppelin in the end game" thread.

Sorry, i guess there are no more party animals left from the 80s, old fucks that we are.

Hey Hey What Can I Do - Closing Zep III
kirchzep27 replied to 1998giventofly's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
I think since i been loving you, would have been the best live blues song as the last song on zep3 -
What about the guitar sustain glitch, why leave that? Cause artists want to leave things, almost as good as they can do
-
What was your preferred party band music, back in the day, or now Either in bars or at parties, some of the best drinking and party music ever made I myself have to go with acdc
-
I would buy a "now and zen" album of demos and outtakes of messy analog tapes, rather than listen to the cold digital recording of the album again.

"Vienna Fireworks: Live in Europe 1973"
kirchzep27 replied to chef free's topic in Led Zeppelin Live
This has always been a show that should be officially released The 90s cd played too fast though, which made it too good on first listen, then less listenable
