    The O2 In Retrospect...

Thats good for you, but i think, achilles last stand and in the evening would have been better than dazed and sibly

    The Firm Thread

It was a very cool journey for me to appreciate, the firm. There are times where they seem very simple and humble sounding....and then there are times where they were this simple humble kickass rock band. So much music to appreciate with the firm, with some of their songs seemingly flat in regards to what was going on in the mid 80s and as time goes on, thats why i appreciate those 2 records more. I guess there would never be a remaster series with companion discs. But for many years the firm vinyl sounded much better than the cds from decades ago. If they, the firm or jimmy ever gets to it, those compact discs deserve a remaster...because the fretless bass and drums were hindered alot on the cds for the overall sound. As for jimmy page and paul rodgers, such a cool accomplishment for creating a band where we did not think about led zep or bad co.

    The O2 In Retrospect...

I liked hearing that 2007 version of dazed and confused alot. Just from reflecting on this show being all electric, we know all zep electric songs are all heavy...so for a show for ahmet ertegun, why not another epic which is heavy and yet bright, just as in the evening would have been and a triumpth kind of feeling to see page, plant and john paul jones. But ultimately i think achilles last stand would have had that bright light effect, like it did in 77 and 80...so thats why it could have been sooo cool. Also could have been switched out for sibly for my 2cents.

    The O2 In Retrospect...

I think if they switched out dazed and confused with achilles last stand...it would have rounded that show much better.

Jimmy Page photo shoot at Abbey Road Studios

Wow, how can you say never for 98? It truly is a part of led zeppelin's history, in regards to page and plant. We loved jimmy in 98, the crowd was going crazy over well played led zep songs. I see atleast a deluxe edition of this record one day...as the marketing suggests

The Best blues song ever made by Zeppelin.

To me it's, i can't quit you baby I have overlooked and rediscovered this song for decades. For me, i enjoyed "since ive been loving you" in my youth, but i honestly did not like hearing it on unledded, although enjoyed it live in 95. It actually has a "stairway to heaven" aspect to it, where on listening to live shows...i totally get worn out from it.

    EV Tutankhamun Box" Just Spotted!

The bootleg market is finally grinding to a halt.

Jimmy Page photo shoot at Abbey Road Studios

Maybe he is working on a deluxe release of, walking into clarksdale, with a companion disk thats bright and sunny. Hopefully there is a significant release of the 98 tour one day, either an overview or one whole show.

    Eddie Van Halen slamming Page

I miss the old days, when we just hated disco music.
  11. I guess 2019 will be the year for any zep releases... In regards to 2018, the whole catalogue was just rereleased...so from a marketing standpoint, i guess the photo book makes sense.

That guitar is so cool, that it makes me wish i learned to play guitar.

Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes

I was at 2 of the 3 shows at roseland, same setlist i think, a well rehearsed setlist for a fans dream....as far as led zeppelin setlists went. Never thought those would be the last Page shows. Crazy

    The O2 In Retrospect...

I think this show was a success on a few levels. But the way they promoted the album and dvd, which thank God they released, so cool....but for them to be going through any lead singer drama stuff, the rock band thing...was not necessary to explain not playing further.

    Guilty Pleasures

Well since i just defended dee snider in the twisted sister thread. In the 80s i bought alot of records, john cougar, joan jett, the cars, bruce springsteen and the rolling stones.... All i know is, the cars singer married a super model and then the cars disappeared.

    Best Live Bass Solo

That is definitely a memorable bass section for john paul jones...sounds so cool and is signature jpj for his much much later solo records. Also, i think this might have been the bounce back thought for the 1980 whole lotta love improv. I mean the sudden space without jimmy in a live show, with bonham and jones jamming is nice!!!

Dee Snider Of Twisted Sister Puts Down Zep

So, i live on long island and have bought vinyl records since the 1980s. In the 80s with mtv, i bought some twisted sister records and thought they were great in high school. Back in the vinyl record days, it was easy for me to spend money on records... So to buy a billy joel record, twisted sister record, crumbsucker record....all long island artists....before anthrax and beastie boys, was a fun time to try to listen to alot of music. I have to say that alot of twisted sisters sound and vibe is based on led zep, metal and punk. Its simplified or boiled down, but its very cool music...which is mostly nostalgic for me, but i think they are a very good band.
  18. Great response and description of "the rover". I agree, its a mini epic led zep song, employing alot of great stuff, within a rock song. From the intro, to the lyrics and the musical stages it goes through, until the great outro...to me, its been better than stairway to heaven for decades...its got the slink vibe, to the majestic vibe, in such a cool way that its just great...compared to some of the unbelievably great songs.

    Does 'Coda' Count?

Also, when robert plant and jimmy page played wearing and tearing @knebworth 1990, that was a great moment for starving zep fans!!!

    Does 'Coda' Count?

I can totally relate to playing the first 2 songs loud. I bought coda in the mid 80s along with robert plants, pictures at eleven, both on vinyl obviously, coda was a bargain bin cutout. It was very interesting hearing those 2 records together...favoring and comparing the songs. Initially i lost interest in coda, yet always went to it, to blast we're gonna groove. Being the "mixed tape" that it was, i appreciated coda song by song over time. In later decades, liking walters walk and bonzos montreux, the most.

    Companion discs are rubbish

This is a well said, very important point. The companion discs were a huge untold bargain for starving zep fans. Also add the significant sound improvement of the albums and its a win win beyond belief. I bought the new records, cds specifically for the companion discs...and i am totally happy with them.

    Bonzo Bash, Russia 2015

I think these bonzo bash shows are great. Whether its metal drummers or unknown drummers, it always is a great show.

    Tea For One

Like the alternate version of sibly, i would love to hear one of the alternate takes of tea for one and im gonna crawl. Although the original tea for one, is seamless greatness...
  24. Now we know that "la la" was part the repetoire for band practice, in a way. This is the roadmap though...its what they were going to do with jimmy.
