Parents Comments About Zeppelin

Recommended Posts

if it is that they are not into heavier music, try playing something like Bron-yr-Aur and don't say anything. If you can illicit a "Hey, whats that you're listening to?" Hit 'em with the hard truth.

LED ZEPPELIN BABY!!!!!

I've had this with some people and their eyebrows always raise a centimetre or two.

hahaha!

I played that song at my wedding. When we first walked into the reception as "Introducing, Mr and Mrs..."

One of my best mates who introduced me to Zep almost burst with happiness (pride?). Was awesome.

HA, I did that once with the Grateful Dead - a friend came by and I had Terrapin Station on. She said, "oh, I like this music, who is it?" and I said "Grateful Dead" - she made a face and said, "EW". hahaha. Also love that you played Bron-yr-Aur at your wedding!

Zeppelin could be for lots of occasions, but satisfying your need to listen to music with other people, should be done the right way.

I was 11 or 12 when I brought home LZ 2 back in 1970. My parents hated it. 'Why does he sound like hes falling in a well?!' 'Why does it have to be so loud' 'Why isnt there a nice tune?' 'He'll grow out of it soon, another fad!'

Having said that by the time I was 16 and in time for Earls Court my Mum knitted me a ZoSo jumper just like Jimmy Pages, I think I've still got it in the bottom of my wardrobe. It doesnt fit anymore!

After my dad walked by one day while I was listening to HMMT he heard the "Squeeze my lemon, till the juice runs down my leg" bit and from then on he would ask if I was listening to "The Lemon Squeezers"?

My parents (mama especially) thinks Led Zeppelin is straight out of hell and of the devil.

If it's not Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, or George Jones then it's of Satan himself. I love traditional style country and it's what I listen to 95% of the time but Zep is just too good. So I would still listen to it by myself until I got old enough to not care. I'm 24.

My parents didn't allow rock and roll in our house. My father didn't have many nice things to say about rock and roll.

My dad came in when I was watching a LZ dvd, looked at the screen, and asked "are those two guys a couple of fruit cakes, or what?"  I couldn't imagine trying to explain to my dad that those two "fruit cakes" got more girls than any 100 regular men combined!!

..that made me laugh out loud !😂

Well, not Zep really, but I'll always remember a good line from my mom - I just got back from a concert, and she asked me who I saw.

"Jethro Tull" I said.

"How was he?" she asks :D

My dad had a good comment about Jethro Tull, or at least at the time it was funny to me and my brothers.  We were listening to Stand Up in the living room.  My dad walked in and sat down with his newspaper.  Bouree was playing.  After about a minute he said without looking up from his paper, "Who is this?"  My brother said "Dad, it's TULL !"  Without batting an eyelash or looking up from his paper my dad said "I like Tull."
