  4. That's the part of the Amendment that the opposing side failed and/or ignored or simply doesn't have the mental capacity to understand. They thought the Amendment failing to pass would make it legal for gay people to get married in North Carolina but that's already illegal. The Amendment failing to pass wouldn't have changed that.

  11. Yesterday I attended the Rock Against Amendment One Rally at the Pinhook in Durham, NC which included performances from Amy Ray (of Indigo Girls), Kooley High and Mount Moriah. For those unfamiliar with Amendment One here's some more information on it: If it passes, it will amend Article 14 of the NC Constitution by adding a new section: A friend of mine has posted a few clips from yesterday's rally to YouTube. The first one, from Amy Ray's set, includes a brief segment at the beginning from Melissa York, the drummer from Amy's backing band, the Butchies, in which she speaks out agains the amendment.
