  1. Scary stuff. Hoping all of our California members stay safe.
  2. Here's a fun one. Strider or Wally Hood happen to be there?
  3. Amen, amen!! I totally agree and have had the same experience of pancakes every weekend while my kids were growing up and then pancake strike until just recently. Life is much too short to live without pancakes. I use yogurt in the batter, add fresh blueberries and a few mini chocolate chips, and life is good. Strider, I include French toast on the list of things life is too short to live without.
  4. I agree, ebk. I want to see pics! Pancakes...yum! Brings back so many wonderful memories. Plus they taste so good!
  5. This is me, with the gorgeous fall weather we are having.
  6. Errr, no, I almost forgot about them! Tomorrow, I will use the sugar in my coffee and think I'll use the spice on grilled pork ribs. Guess what? When passing the Royal Orleans hotel last weekend, I spotted a spice store. It was closed on Sunday but I looked it up online and it looks very similar to Spice Station. Can't wait to check it out soon!
  7. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, Walter. Prayers for her and her family. And for those who love her. Where is that cure for cancer? I just know there is a solution out there. Just realized I posted my previous post in the wrong thread. Should have been in the HAPPY thread.
  8. Low 80s and no threat of rain made way for a much needed walk on the bridge. Presence companion has been on non-stop rotation but today it was Physical Graffiti that accompanied me. Oh how I have missed these beautiful views and LZ blaring in my headphones.
  9. Amen. I can't keep a smile off of my face and cannot keep still when I listen to those mad drumming skills. My ears always gravitate to the drums, and I usually end with 'What a workout!'. Will join you in saluting my favorite drummer and will enjoy listening to some of those mad drumming skills today. Long live John Bonham!
  10. Haha, good philosophy, Strider! Well, I'm really glad to hear that Van Morrison has had recent incredible shows, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on this one, too. Maybe he was not feeling well when I saw him. I'll certainly give him another chance if he comes back to this area, I love his music. And Tom Jones...wow!!
  11. Thank you! It's been a while since I've seen the play, and the timing is perfect for the week I've had. Not much soothes my soul like the sound of music, especially this music. Have a great weekend, Kiwi!
  12. Ahhh!!! Jane, his wife (bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop...). Brilliant!!
  13. Heading to New Orleans to see The Sound of Music, opening for the Broadway season. And hoping to take a spin around the Carousel with a French 007. Wheeeee!
  14. I love when heart and brain agree. And when gut is on board, too, you know you're good to go. Follow your heart, trust your gut, use your head. In that order. Works every time.
  15. ^^^ Oh Kiwi, I haven't seen that for a while! One of the best theme songs ever, I spent my entire youth getting Saturdays started with that gem!
  16. Strider, do you ever sleep!? I hope Van Morrison puts on a good show if you go. I was disappointed when I saw him a few months ago. Songs were totally lifeless.
  17. What a nice thing to say, Strider! And ditto back. It's great to put a face with a name, and a voice behind the words. Indeed.
  18. I see. When I saw 'fried', I mistakenly thought you were putting a batter on it. Salmon is the best! Yes, gumbo is served over rice. Seafood gumbo is more popular, especially when served in restaurants. But you can't beat the taste of chicken and sausage gumbo. Made the chicken stock last night, so today will be the roux, and finally the gumbo. Gumbo is one of those dishes that tastes better if you freeze it and eat it, say, a month later. But I think I'll have to eat a fresh bowl today.
