  1. Most of the "Zep haters" I have run across fall into two categories: 1.) They prefer bands like Rush, clean sounding and very consistent, so Zeppelin is not for them, or 2.) They say Zeppelin "stole" all of their songs from others. I can't even begin to argue with either of the groups because they just don't get it..... I have, like henrybonzo said, come across a few that don't like Robert's "shrieking" (as they put it), which I can understand because there are some bands that the lead singer totally ruins any possibility of me liking their music. REM for one.

    Jimmy Fallon

Kipper, seriously? Show me one instance on the Tonight Show where Fallon has treated his guest poorly? If you don't think he is funny, that is your opinion. But, I have seen nothing but genuine fun and laughter from his guests every episode I have watched, which is almost every one of them. Btw, McDonald was funny - I agree. With that said, you think Fallon is rude but McDonald was funny? That just proves you have something personally against Fallon. Fallon is way more "safe" of a comedian than Norm McDonald ever was/is. As a side note, if you think for one instance Johnny Carson treated all of his guests well - you don't know anything about the man. I loved his show, but he was awful to many of his guests, especially the comedians - not while they were on the show either.

    Jimmy Fallon

mstork, that comment was directed at a post before yours. With that said, Jay Leno had better ratings than Letterman and Kimmel that is true - but a "cash cow", don't think so. Fallon is the future for them and better to have a future than to wait for Leno to leave. Isn't the whole point of business to stay ahead of your market and not follow?
  4. You can't clue in someone who obviously comes on here drunk, again, only to stir up sh!t....he should've remained banned after he revealed who he really is. The St. Louis Cardinal fans are usually a classy bunch.
  5. 10 years? That poor boy and family. I truly hope justice is served in court and in prison....
  6. Just finished Trampled Under Foot from Earl's Court - May 25th show. I'd forgotten just how good this show was. It might be the "if I could go back and see any Zeppelin show" show for me. Long, intense, and very comprehensive!
  7. I remember Pagey saying there is a completely different version of "Since I've Been Loving You" that is fantastic, looking forward to that! Celebration Day, today, for sure!
  8. Just placed an order for all three super deluxe boxes, ran $396.57 but I'm sure it'll be lowered before June. Looking forward to all the goodies!!! Last go around for all of this!
  9. Happy Birthday to 'The Chase'. Hope it has been a good one!
  10. ^ That's news to me about JPJ missing some early shows, anyone with more info on that?
  11. Earl's Court - May 25, 1975 on DVD, just moving into 'Kashmir'...such a GREAT show!
  12. Left it off LZ II bonus disc because it's on LZ III....
  13. Gotta love a new Zep release!!! The art work is incredible, IMO, and based on the fact that I have never collected any of the bootleg studio stuff - the LZ III "jams" are gonna be all new to me! Question, the "rough mixes" they have listed for WLL, Ramble On, etc., what does that actually mean - the released song in a different state of completion or a completely different version of it? The alternate mix of Immigrant Song, completely different or just parts missing from the final release? Thanks!
  14. Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, on dvr.
  15. ^ I see they have signed Revis to a 1-year deal.
  16. Welcome to the Sunshine State, ebk! Hope you have an awesome time going to the games! Oh yeah, and dinner!
  17. Hopefully more live tracks will come with discs like Presence, with the limited extra studio material?
  18. Well Paul, I certainly understand why it happened - he was set to earn over $12 million this year, they need the cap space, and he wouldn't restructure his contract. They apparently parted ways on good terms and after testing the market he might still play for Dallas. So, I guess it's a wait and see situation. Having a number of injuries to various parts of his body the past 3-4 years (especially the neck area) doesn't bode well for his future production. Having said all of that, who do they have that can be productive on the d-line? NOBODY. So, I certainly don't like that. Throw in the towel for the season over this? I think that is overreacting....it's not like he has done much the past two seasons, compared to the rest of his illustrious career. The NFL is a cut-throat business and decisions like these are becoming much more frequent. I see the Raiders throwing money at him, since they have like $60 million to spend on free agents/draft picks. I am not a big believer in signing big-money free agents. Too many times, their effort and desire go down after receiving the money. We shall see.....
  19. Interesting...so no "hoopla" for the release dates? Plus only Zep II is listed as a double disc above?
  20. I saw how strong Mercedes was, seems like it's time for a power change in F1. Over here in the states NBC's sport channel is carrying all the practices, qualifying, and races this season. Roger Penske had a great weekend....both of his drivers started on the front row yesterday (for the 2nd week in a row), Brad Keselowski won the race, and Roger had his first hole-in-one in golf this weekend, playing in Florida! The hat trick of success! My father-in-law is pretty good friends with him and I've me and spoken with Mr. Penske a number of times - what a good guy he is. Not full of himself, and always remembers a name. Congrats to him!
