  1. Very true. Grand National is a better disc, overall, I believe. Sunrise is a good disc, I just don't like the production of it. What You Want is probably my favorite song - but the studio version is nothing compared to live. Thanks for replying and if you live in the northeast/central US or Canada they will be around in February, I think the play southern California at the end of February. Strider, I think you'd love JBT live.
  2. Yeah I was aware of his career in Baltimore, just too young to have seen it. They picked him up after his prime for sure. Didn't he get beaned by a ball that was the start of his decline? I have watched clips of his defensive abilities and he really covered center field.
  3. C'mon man! It's not a repeated thread so.... Anyway, did you watch the game yesterday? Down 25-7 after the first 8-9 minutes and then won by 16! The dominated the inside and Cooney and Fair hit some 3's - they looked great! Next game is v. Eastern Michigan on New Years Eve @3 on espnu.
  4. Did I just see that loser Puig was arrested for drunk driving - again??? Scumbag!
  5. It was played in '75 at a few US shows and also '73 Southampton. Off the top of my head, maybe there were more?
  6. RIP Paul Blair I remember him when I was a little kid, as a Yankee though.
  7. Mrs. Walter and I are heading out to see "American Hustle" tonight for a much needed "date night"!
  8. Thanks Strider, my Zeppelin brother....being back here at least takes my mind off why I wasn't on. Time for the last picks of the season. For the first and only time this season - ALL games are on Sunday! Carolina Cincinnati Tennessee Indianapolis Miami Minnesota Washington Pittsburgh Green Bay Denver New England New Orleans San Francisco San Diego Seattle Dallas - pipe dream, I know.
  9. It seems like most of the versions of HMMT are cut for some reason or another. I like versions with the great medley jams, before WLL took that mantle. 4/27/69 at the Fillmore West comes to mind as a favorite.
  10. Why zap it? There isn't another 2013 college basketball thread already, is there? We should just have our own Syracuse basketball thread!
  11. They have some good, young talent. Long arms to help extend that 2-3 zone. They just need consistent scorers. CJ Fair can't do all the scoring. Cooney is their big 3-point threat. The Freshman point guard looks great so far....but the kid I like the best is Jeremy Grant. He's the nephew of Horace Grant and has been very dynamic off the bench so far this season. They have all the parts and pieces to go far, looking forward to seeing how they match up against Duke, when they play in February!
  12. They play Villanova this afternoon at "The Dome", on CBS. Nice rivalry game, especially with SU in the ACC now. Who's gonna win the FSU/Auburn National Championship Game? I'll take FSU by 10.
  13. Nice come from behind win last night for the Orange! Plus you won the first part of your parlay, right Rick? Always nice to close the season with a win in a bowl game! :cheer:
  14. If you ever get a chance to see JBT live, do it! He (they) really doesn't fit in the same category as Rusted Root, Johnson, or any of the others you mentioned. Glad you were able to check them out at your bros. place though. What discs did he play for you? Outside of Oz, they are still pretty unknown. They are doing a 3 week tour of the states in Feb. for the release of the new disc, then Europe in May.
  15. My picks will be coming over the weekend. Definitely will be doing a playoff predictions thread, like last year. Interesting battle between jb126 and Strider.... Good luck to you both!
  16. Get a good O-Line to protect Manuel, one more playmaking receiver, and some run stoppers on the defense - then you guys will be dangerous!
  17. Vegas knew all along that is was a smokescreen about Romo possibly playing. It could be ugly, but if it's close - the Eagles secondary is really not that good and Orton is not that bad....
  18. ^It is a nice one, as are the Japan '96 versions. Didn't they open one of those shows with it, in '96?
  19. Thanks for the update! Looking forward to the next round of shows!
  20. Tijuana Flats take out: chicken quesadilla, chicken nachos, and cinnamon cherros. Yummy!!
  21. Chicago, Green Bay, Philadelphia, and Dallas all are in the 'win and in' category - not dependent on anyone but themselves.
  22. I was listening to TSRTS this morning driving around and I also believe that is the best version of Rain Song.
