  1. Of recently put together bands, Velvet Revolver might fit into whatever it is that you are asking. They didn't draw huge crowds, but were well known and recent. They are supposed to be coming back with a new lead singer. Anyway....... The most recent "legendary supergroup" would have to be Nirvana, especially with the Foo Fighters being an offspring of them. Pearl Jam had it's time, but Nirvana is timeless. IMO.
  2. I am with you on Coach Phillips - he should have been gone, gone, gone along with your saviour TO. Keep the pills away from him and watch for more crying when the depression of an upstate NY winter settles in on him Enjoy...... I know I will!!
  3. I have lived his "poop" the last three seasons. First, your Garcia comment is so far out there that I'm not going to make a proper statement about it. Second, even when TO has the ball passed to him, he drops it or gets alligator arms and won't go get it due to being afraid of getting hit hard. The Dolphins are hungry and will be able to defense him well, the Jets have the coordinator that shut him down in the next to last game this past season and we all know about Pats' defensive abilities. When TO's stats aren't where HE thinks they should be, he will then become me, me, me again and that will ruin the club. You don't have to believe me, just wait until November rolls around. I wanted to be excited and positive like you two are, eventually reality sets in with this guy. Again, no rift, just sharing my past three years of watching every down he has played and I sure am glad to see him go. Peace.
  4. No, I am an avid fan of the team he just left and had the same wishes as you have right now and the same as the Philly fans had back then........ No rift between us, I just am glad to have him out of my teams locker room.
  5. Caught them live in a small venue on their last tour. It actually ended up being their last show as they canceled the remaining dates to get some "rest". I would see them again in a heartbeat! Great musicians and high energy on stage!!
  6. Your Bills are going to go - right into chaos! TO's skills will not bring you anything but frustration. He won't go over the middle, he drops a number of passes, doesn't run the correct routes and if he is going to get hit - he'll run out of bounds or go backwards instead of getting the couple of yards needed for a first down. Plus, your team is young and will be easily influenced by this mentally ill man/child. Good luck!
  7. The tape I have of the show begins with Jimmy hitting a note and the announcer says something like, "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Led Zeppelin" and then Bonzo hits the drums to begin "Train..." As far as an announcement before "How Many....", I haven't heard that one before at all.
  8. I have seen the first three nights so far and they have it for sure!! I picked up the new disc, but haven't made it all the way through just yet. Can't wait for the tour - I agree with others in that their performances give an incredible high lasting for days. Bono, and the band as a whole, is certainly an inspiration for those of us who try to make this a better world for everyone - not just ourselves.
  9. Here is one Cowboy fan who is celebrating today!!
  10. Long Goodbye - Brooks and Dunn
  11. Agreed. The Swan Song logo, classic lettering, etc.
  12. I finally found it! Peter Grant's book, by Chris Welch, talks about it on page 63. John Paul Jones' quote talking about how he remains fascinated by the primitive way the first album was produced, "I'm sure there is one point where the vocal bleeds off one track into another. You could never erase anything properly." He also says, "Robert did some vocal guides in the studio and we couldn't get rid of them, so we turned them into an effect. That sort of thing happened all the time." That should shed some light on this subject.
  13. Rock Me Tonight - Billy Squire
  14. Fire In The Sky - John Butler Trio
  15. Home Is Where The Heart Is - John Butler Trio
  16. As hard as it is to say this, I agree ^ , let it be. I also wish there was more to come from them, but obviously there is not. I am pissed off at the different people from the rock community that slagged the idea of them getting together with another singer. Especially Chris Cornell, who shouldn't have any say over any group of musicians who decide to make music with a different singer (i.e. Audioslave/Rage). It is tough to get over this, partly because of their ages, but more obviously because of what we all witnessed they could still do together at the reunion gig. Anyway, as was already said, let it be and enjoy what already has been given.
  17. White, Clean and Neat - Robert Plant
  18. I'll try to find where I read it tonight. I think it was actually in the Peter Grant book that I read over the summer. Again, I'll try to find it again tonight.
  19. Dirty White Boy - Foreigner
