  1. Wish he would take a Grateful Dead approach to releasing live shows. More fans than those of us who know about boots and how to acquire them need to hear some of the live stuff that is out there, its mindblowing.
  2. I bloody hope they play Australia, or even better NZ! I would definitely make the trip across the Tasman if they didn't come to NZ though.
  3. Turns out all of the rumours about London and New York were true
  4. I can't agree with you Major, Some Girls is a great album and Tattoo You has some great songs on it, my favourite being 'Worried About You'. Undercover and Dirty Work are complete rubbish though but Voodoo Lounge and Bridges To Babylon do have some good songs on them imo. In other news Keith has said in a recent interview that they have shows booked in London and New York! http://news.qthemusi...olling_sto.html Also, the new song 'Doom and Gloom' will be released on itunes on the 11th, I'm very intrigued as to what it will sound like.
  5. I'm a huge fan, another Greatest Hits package is boring to me for that exact reason. Why should I shell out for this when I have all of the songs on album anyway? How many times does Brown Sugar, Start Me Up etc. have to be released? Granted there are two supposed new tracks on it, but if they're anything like 'Don't Stop' which was tacked onto the 40 licks compilation you can count me out. I won't be purchasing this but I'll 'acquire' the two new songs.
  6. Been hearing rumuors of another Greatest Hits package for a while now. All I can is, boring.
  7. One of the best covers I've ever heard
  8. This is GREAT news! As Rolling Stone reports, 'Stones insiders' have told about serious plans for some gigs later this and of cause also next year. But Keith himself is also quoted. After all the letdowns, blown up rumours and (even official) denials, now at last we have some more serious stuff to think about! First: the Stones still think about one or maybe more gigs this year to mark their 50th anniversary. Keith says: "I'd like to get a couple of shows down and see how it goes [...] But I'd love it." Second: The same holds true for plans about a tour next year. Their last rehearsals in April this year Weehawken, New Jersey (see below), were fvery relaxed and joyful. According to Brett Morgen, who is the director of a documentary and who was invited to film the event to shoot footage for a documentary celebrating the group's anniversary, the Stones ran through "Beast of Burden" "Respectable" "Fool to Cry" and "Gimme Shelter", among other classics, and they were "extremely tight". Keith is quoted saying: "I thought I'd be quite rusty, after all we hadn't done it for a while, five years or something. But it sounded as fresh as you could hope for. It was a great week." Third: in July, the Stones will meet in London to discuss further live performances and even the possibillity of new songs for a maybe new album! Keith: "It's all very hush-hush, ... I'm going over to London for a bit, so I'll find out more then. We're going to talk about that in July and see. I mean, I'd love to get some tracks down and see what songs we've got. And that goes along with part of getting the band back together and getting things moving. So I'd love to cut some tracks, yeah." Cheek to cheek with Mick? "Oh, yeah, I have no doubt." 9. Nope, the national anthem in Aussie is 'Advance Australia Fair' I believe. Its a damn sight better than our anthem in NZ which begins with the word 'God'. it was originally a hymn.
  10. Well the rumours that have been floating around of them playing Glastonbury 2013 are bogus apparently.
  11. Next official bootleg is release is Toronto 2005. Rough Justice Live With Me 19th Nervous Breakdown She's So Cold Dead Flowers Back Of My Hand Ain't To Proud To Beg Introductions Infamy (Keith) Oh No, Not You Again Get Up, Stand Up Mr. Pitiful Tumbling Dice Brown Sugar Jumping Jack Flash (encore) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWnogYLwzGE
  12. I listened to it for the first time the other day even though I've been a Who fan for years. Didn't impress me much tbh.
  13. What are you bumping the thread for exactly?
  14. At times like these I wish I didn't live on the other side of the world to most of you on here. Man, I hope he announces a world tour.
  15. Will be picking this up for sure. Neil Young's autobiography is out in October also I believe!
  16. Mick Taylor showing that he still has the chops to well and truly do 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking' justice, if the Stones do indeed tour next year he better be part of it! http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/mick-taylor-cant-you-hear-me-knockin-5-9-12/1400804 This is pretty damn good as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqEJ3sgMEQU&feature=youtu.be
  17. The Berlin date is bogus according to the stonesnews.com site. In regards to the recent studio sesions, here's what the same site has to say: 'The sessions in Weehawken are done already. All 4 Stones were there, plus Chuck Leavell and Don Was, who played bass (Darryl is on tour in Europe). Four songs were played, each twice: Miss You, Fool To Cry, Jumping Jack Flash and another unknown one. [thx UC, RO]. Well, we can safly state, that the preparations for whatever is to come really begin to take shape. More to come, soon!' Although there are no sources for this the site has been pretty accurate in the past.
  18. Parts of the show were filmed by an audience member with a handheld 8mm camera.
