  1. Drivers who won't overtake cyclists even when there is plenty of room and time to do so.
  2. Nah sorry, don't agree, a blip in the early seventies who had a few hit singles. Nothing more than a novelty pop music act. Comparing Quatro to Patti Smith is like comparing a scribbled shopping list to Shakespeare.
  3. They are out, ready for Ronnie on the snooker at two thirty. I don't mind watching Ronnie O, he gets on with it. The garden can wait until it cools down a bit.
  4. Jim doesn't want a warts and all, the questions it would pose, best keep those doors closed. As for the cash cow, maybe thirty years ago but not now.
  5. Going to get rid of some weeds in the back garden and jet wash the patio. Watch some snooker too.
  6. The Who did not attract Teeny Boppers. That expression came about in the early seventies, it was aimed at fans of T Rex, Slade, The Sweet, that slime ball paedophile Glitter, Suzi Quatro too maybe.
  7. I downloaded a version of that show years ago, I wasn't impressed with the sound quality so never really gave at a full listen. After seeing your post I thought I'd give it another go. Rather than go through half a dozen external HDs and a box of USB sticks looking for the show I went over to Dime to grab it again. Grabbed two versions, the first one has the same poor quality as the one I listened to years ago, the second one titled "Storming the Big Apple", wow, what a difference, night and day, very good sound quality. As you posted, the set list is superior, the energy and vibes are there for definite. For me this show has been lost along the way, when Broadband Internet came along I went download crazy, grabbing full shows in half an hour instead of a few days like happened with 56k dial up, so many of them I'd never give most more than a quick scan. Thanks for the recommendation Strider. I'm sure if I'd heard this show in the early seventies I would know like the back of my hand just like BBH, Going to California, Mudslide etc.
  8. No, on there now in another window. Edge browser.
  9. There is already a thread about this book. Wait, I thought there was, maybe I read it @RO or SHMF, or both. I am tempted to buy this, I bought many TMOQs between 73 and 76 (other labels too) Should be an interesting read.
  10. Not until the 11th, but yeah, I was running out of skins by the time Zeppelin came on.
  11. I don't think it's strange at all, guy murders his family, hides the bodies, makes it look as though they all went away and then goes on the run. His motive, well he was clearly a fraud, (seemingly so was his father) been living a lie for years, living above his means. When it all finally came crashing down he probably had some kind of mental breakdown, in desperation murdered his family, he couldn't take the shame. People do strange things when they are mentally ill. As for the thumb down, that's the Netflix rating system, I didn't like what I saw of the series so I gave it thumb down, if they still had their previous star rating I would have given it three stars out of five, neither liked or disliked it.
  12. I downloaded Blueberry Hill (very slowly) from Napster in around about 1996/97, before they went legit of course. The first thing I ever downloaded after discovering P2P file sharing in fact.
  13. They didn't get kicked off the tour, extra dates were added on to the tour. VH had other commitments and were unavailabe for the added shows. For the Liverpool show I went to I knew well in advance there would be no Van Halen.
  14. Belated birthday greetings man.
  15. Thanks for this Steve, an interesting listen, not made my mind up yet, I do think the drums sound a bit odd though.
  16. I'd have to toss a coin, who would be heads who would be tails ?. There is no winner, both were great in the 70s =s in my book.
  17. That is the tour, yes. It was disappointing that VH could not stay on as support for the added gigs on that Sabbath 78 tour, never got to see them.

I love the Tommy album, played it yesterday and the day before (LP's) Today I might play the Blu-ray or the SACD for the surround mix (both different mixes), maybe I'll play both. TAAB could do with a listen too, it's been a few months....
  19. Twenty three minutes to ten.
  20. I have, I watched both episodes at the weekend, both on catch up (fewer adverts). Enjoyed them immensely the first a little more than the second. They are on my Sky+ box so I'll watch them again. So many artists featured that I love. I did feel that the odd one out in there was The Mamas and Papas, part of that Canyon scene but their music is definitely middle of the road compared to the other acts, not my cup of tea, one of the few acts I own nothing by. Can't wait to see this.
  21. I finished the "French" episode, the only real mystery is the prime suspect is still on the run. Did not think much of it, gave it (the series) a thumb down rating. I'm not going to bother with the episodes I've not watched.
  22. It got worse when somebody coloured it in.
