  1. That's what I was trying to say, but before I could edit it, there were too many responses, so I just the train keep a rollin'. My thought was about "7 and 7 is" (by Love).... That Plant covered it (and that both dates: Yardbirds and Zeppelin's last were 7/7 (like you thought). It's all good. R
  2. Thanks for sharing. Hey, if Robert doesn't record or tour with them, maybe we can have DC join Jimmy, JPJ and Jason (and other special guests like Paul Rodgers , Brian May, etc...). I really do hope Robert does record with them (3 J's). R
  3. There's been no official news of a CMT: Crossroads "Plant and Krauss" DVD. The show has been around for 6 or so years with a number of pairings and there haven't been any DVDs released, so we'll just have to wait and see. If you do some searching online, I'm sure you can find anything though. http://www.tvguide.com/detail/tv-show.aspx...e=ucepisodelist some examples: Heart & Wynona Judd Pat Benatar & Martina McBride ZZ Top w/ Brooks & Dunn John Mayer & Brad Paisley Bon Jovi w/ Sugarland Robert Plant w/ Alison Krauss (Feb. '08) Maroon 5 w/ Sara Evens (coming May 5th on CMT) R
  4. cool. Thanks for clearing up the 7/7/68 thing, guys. Much appreciated. Yes. I know Plant was into Love's music and covered it on a few occasions (on some solo tours and all)... then the first Strange Sensation recording and tour. I would probably agree with y'all that the 40th anniversary is this year, since they were LZ in the latter half of 1968. R
  5. Si (spanish for C and also, Yes) , you're correct 9th. I went to Israel last summer (very interesting times we're living, indeed). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priestly_Blessing www.myspace.com/reidstevens (new songs posted) R
  6. Interesting thought that Plant sang "7 and 7 Is" and that Led Zeppelin's last gig was 7/7/80 (and as mentioned above 7/7/68 being their first gig (not sure about that, though)). R
  7. It's my name "I before E, except in Reid. " R
  8. Little does the "critic" know that "Trampled Underfoot" was based on another blues song (written well before Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and too many other areas regarding their wonderful album, Physical Graffiti. R
  9. no one to open for them would be great, too!!! R
  10. Yoko ono (was left off the list, what is the world coming too)???? R
  11. someone left Dubya off of the list for next President (he won't leave, even if it is an election year): He'll remain in charge since we are in a time of war and due to the Homeland Security Act and new laws he passed recently , he'll stay in office (so all of those running won't ever get to step foot in the white house, except to visit). http://www.constitution.org/col/cuddy_nwo.htm scroll down (from 1988 to present and you'll see why) http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/10/02/...ain576332.shtml R
  12. Queen and Zeppelin are two of my favorite bands, so this is a tough one. Zeppelin influenced Queen and so many other bands (since they began in 1968 and Queen began in 1971 -- releasing their first album in 1973). Brian and Jimmy are good friends, so let's let them share in the glory (I choose both). How about a double bill world tour in 2009 (Queen + Paul Rodgers and Led Zeppelin) ??? Plant sang with Queen at the FM Tribute in 1992 and PR sang with Page in the Firm (and they're all friends)... Queen+ PR are touring this fall to support a new album (to be released in September) and they recently performed on British tv (a new performance/ track is on youtube). Who knows, with Page, JPJ and Jason recording recently, they might be gearing up, too!!! You never know. R
  13. You never know.????.. or it could be Robert Plant with Special Guests (Alison Krauss and T. Bone Burnett & band). It is Mandela's 90th b-day celebration concert, so anything could happen. There are a lot of big names there (Clapton, Bono & The Edge, Queen, etc...) We'll wait and see, R
  14. ... who knows when or if it will get released??? only Page, Plant, Jones (and maybe Jason)... Let's look at the history of released DVDs of the members of Led Zeppelin since 1980 (and their reunions) 1983 --- ARMS concert for Ronnie Lane (MS) --- dvd released as an import in early 2000. 1985 --- Live Aid (DVD officially released without Led Zeppelin members performance) 1988 --- HBO/ 40th Anniversary Atlantic Records Concert (P,JP,JPJ & JB) --never officially released on DVD (5 song set --- audio problems, lackluster performances) 1990 --- Knebworth DVD officially released (3 songs :Page & Plant -"Wearing & Tearing, Misty Mountain Hop & "Rock N Roll"/ Plant's solo set performance edited from 6 songs to 4 (Liars Dance & Tie Die on the Highway edited out of DVD Jason Bonham's Wedding (private affair --- the 4 of them performed a few Zep songs- never officially released) 1996 --- Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony/performance (never officially released on DVD) 2001 --- Concert for Monserrat (P&P performance (edited) on DVD (officilly released) 2002 --- Good Rockin' Tonight -- Page & Plant cover one Memphis blues tune on the dvd (interview too). 2004 --- P & P Unledded (MTV 10th Anniversary (VHS originally released in 1994) official DVD released) 2006 --- UFO (live in Germany (I believe) --- Jason Bonham on drums 2007 --- Foreigner live (Jason Bonham on drums) 2007 --- O2 Ahmet Tribute Concert (P, JP, JPJ and JB) --- not officially released The track record doesn't look very good regarding much officially released Led Zeppelin (post 1980 "reunions/one-offs" material for DVD, so far. We'll see.. R
  15. It definitely shows his sense of humor (maybe Steve Martin, Martin Short and Chevy Chase would have had a 4th Amigo along for the ride)... R
  16. ...What I couldn't understand were Plant's "feedback" problems early on and well into a few songs. I know temperature changes (between sound check and concert), acoustics, stage audio levels, monitor levels ,etc play a part in it. A good soundcheck can't eliminate all potential feedback problems. Plant had the mike in it's stand early on and it looked like he (perhaps) got caught up in the moment playing again with the three Js (but each time he did it --- as a singer or any musician knows --- the feedback will keep occurring each time you aim/point a mic back into the direction of a speaker cabinet or monitor). I don' t think he purposely did it. (yeah, maybe he sabbotaged the dvd release with it (just kidding) That was my only (minor) complaint to the O2. Pages 3 bars versus the 4 bars part of D&C was the only real performance issue (but still minor in the overall outlook) of the night. Other than that, they did an outstanding job (especially Jason). I really loved that they only did 16 songs (leaving us wanting more) and that they did "For Your Life" (for Ahmet). I do hope they eventually release it on DVD so all can see their tribute to Ahmet Let's wait and see. R
  17. I actually liked Walking into Clarksdale (the songs and that Page and Plant got together to do something new of sorts). I didn't like the production of it (like others) though. I'd be cool to see them (Page, Plant, Jones and Jason) do "Shining in the Light" and/or perhaps "Most High" from Clarksdale. Also a medley of Plant's "Calling to You" going into "Kashmir" in the future live would be cool, too (the eastern feel). 1998 was a cool year: to see them live on that tour and meet Page and Plant (briefly) was a great memory (so that makes me have fond memories of the Clarksdale period). R
  18. Thanks. No. i did sign up from Plant's site for pre-sales, notification, etc..., but, actually, a friend is a season ticket holder (boxed seats) and sold me his at face value (as he knew I'm a huge Zeppelin fan). I just emailed him the second I found out about Plant and Krauss touring and requested them. I got my tickets, etc.. and that was it. Really looking forward to the concert!!! R
  19. Thanks Steve and all, Sharon Little's myspace has got some of her music on there. http://www.myspace.com/sharonlittle Enjoy!!! I'm looking forward to the Atlanta show (july 10) -- 2nd row seats!!! R www.myspace.com/reidstevens (new songs posted, too)
  20. Yes. Both August 4 and 11th (1979 Knebworth) shows are on DVD. google online and you can find them. Hoping they'll be made available officially at some future time, though. R
  21. Thanks. Yes. He was/is a great guy. ...only 54 days, Miss Honeydripper, 54 days (and you will meet him). Let us know about everything and show us some pictures. I'll see him here in Atlanta (July 20) when he plays with Foreigner (and Bryan Adams). R
  22. Jason (and all of them) did an incredible job for the Ahmet Tribute: O2 concert. Jason is a great guy (I met him in 1997) and this has always been his dream (ever since 1980). We talked into the early hours of the morning in SC about his dad, family, music and other stuff. He has conquered a lot in his days. The dream gig for him is to record material and tour with the other 3. That was the best opportunity for the four of them to do for Jason's dad , Ahmet and their friends and all of the fans. I (my personal opinion) really believe they will re-group late this year with some new studio material and tour next year with Plant. Let's just wait and see, though (as anything can happen in an animated cartoon (to quote Bugs Bunny). R
  23. Thanks, Sam. Most excellent!!! This is some cool stuff, indeed. R
  24. Thanks Steve and all, I got tickets for Atlanta (7/10). L<00>king forward to it. R
