  1. I think Clapton may have acquired the '58 Explorer from Jeff Carlisi (.38 Special) or another private collector, who is from here in Atlanta. Jeff's got a few rare Explorers. I'll check and see if I can get confirmation. R
  2. Plant always liked Queen's music (he performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert in April of 1992 (and in an interview, he said Brian's guitar playing as well as Freddie's voice were instantly recognizable). He sang a medley of Queen and Zeppelin at the Tribute: "Innuendo" including words from "Kashmir"/"Thank You"/ "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" R
  3. It looked something like this: http://gc.guitarcenter.com/guitars/jimmy-page-les-paul/ http://guitarplayer.wordpress.com/2008/02/...by-first-image/ R
  4. Cornell doesn't have any tour dates right now: http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/768162/...m_header_search It'd be the best thing for all of them right now (until another one off or something with Plant). Page, Jones and Jason want to play... Question is: would Chris Cornell do it if asked and would the others ask him? R
  5. ... News Update, this just in... Robert Plant to tour with Yoko Ono (immediately after his tour with Alison Krauss). April Fools!!!! R
  6. ... Remember Kingdom Clone??? .... I remember Ozzy did a songs called, "Led Clones" with Gary Moore on lead guitar. That was cool. R
  7. I think Page used the amp during the Crowes tour in 199/2000. R
  8. ... Robert will probably do some Samba or Brazillian gypsy jazz music next (we'll see)... R
  9. How about something new??? .... until another reunion show.. Page, Jones, Bonham and Chris Cornell (doing new material, some Cornell solo things, Zep classics and maybe a Soundgarden thing or two)... R
  10. You never know what the future brings.... There's always later this year and next year. Maybe this time apart from Zeppelin will inspire Page, Jones and Bonham to write new material (whether separately or together). R
  11. Zeppelin didn't sell out all of their shows from 1968-1980, so having sold out shows is not the way to look at "success". Look how many millions or records they sell, what their fan base is like, how many people wanted to go the the Tribute show in December and couldn't (how their site collapsed when millions attempted to log on). There's personal success, financial success, doing better than the previous time; there's all types of ways to look at success. Their last performance at O2 was a huge success (IMHO). R
  12. yes. please let us know when it's scheduled again (or if it's listed on their website or something). Thankz, R
  13. maybe it was Lez Zeppelin (as they're playing Bonnaroo in Tennessee this summer). R
  14. LOL!!! Cool. He was on the "bridge" of the Mothership. R
  15. I thought VR was done for a while. I heard that Weiland was back and ready to tour again with STP according to Brendan O-Brien's (their producer's) brother, who was on the radio a week or so ago here in Atlanta (where STP records). Oh, well, so much for a Zep tour... (see, it's not Robert's fault, it's The Cult's fault)... R
  16. I think of "That's The Way". If Zeppelin ever did another show or two, it might be cool for Alison to join them in a mid acoustic set: That's The Way Going To California Tangerine Battle of Evermore and who knows that else??? R
  17. Bands that should have already been inducted well before Madonna. It is after all, the ROCK N ROLL Hall of Fame (not the POP/Dance Hall of Shame): Should be in now: Deep Purple (really sad they are not in there) YES Genesis RUSH (they need to be in there, too) Heart Grand Funk Gram Parsons Boston (EVERY classic rock station plays them) KISS (their fans band) Journey (3 decades of Rock/ all the hits/ great musicians) Foreigner (Another Classic Rock Band with too many hits to count) Bad Company (again, another pre-requisite for Rock N Roll --- first band on Zep's, Swan Song label too) Peter Frampton OZZY Blue Oyster Cult Styx (I don't like Dennis DeYoung's sappy stuff, but their other stuff wasn't bad) Def Leppard (ok, some might not like them listed here, but they've paid their dues --- more so than Mad donna) and don't forget Cheap Trick (they've opened for everyone and paid their dues) In another 10 years or so: Pearl Jam STP Soundgarden Ret Hot Chili Peppers Sheryl Crow Lenny Kravitz Black Crowes Sting I'm sure you can think of some bands that deserve to be there, too R
  18. I close each of my concerts with "Thank You". I've done medleys: Including (TSRTS, That's The Way, OTHAFA, IMTOD and on a rare occasion, Kashmir, AML or RNR). The first band I was in (back 20+ years ago), we did The Ocean, RNR and The Immigrant Song. R www.myspace.com/reidstevens
  19. ... Anyone for Atlanta or South East U.S. ? R
  20. It was probably another "band" decision (back in the day with Zeppelin), whereas with the Crowes, Page probably talked with the Crowes and said let's play this and they went, ok. Anything with you, Jimmy (Mr. Page), would be fine with us (we're not worthy). R
  21. Perhaps, with the Crowes, Page had several other guitarists (Rich Robinson and Audley Freed) to work out all of the guitar parts, have them rehearse it and to give it a fresh live feel. With Zeppelin, it's just him on guitar to cover all the guitar parts (or some variation of the arrangement), so maybe he never felt it would translate as well live. R
  22. I agree, too. Thanks for posting and sharing Miss. HD, R
  23. Thanks. It was previously posted on the forum though. Good to see it again, though. R
