  2. I'm so glad that you are enjoying it, Duane is definitely "hitting the note"! The early show is out there somewhere!
  3. QUEEN 13 September 1973 Venue: Golders Green Hippodrome City: London Country: UK Quality: EX Lineage: "Queen Will Be Crowned" (Digital Queen Archives) silver->EAC->WAV->FLAC (Flac front end level 8) Tracklist: 1. Jailhouse Rock/Stupid Cupid/Be Bop A Lula/Shake Rattle And Roll/Jailhouse Rock (Reprise) 9. Big Spender/Bama Lama Bama Loo Comment: This comes directly from the “Queen Will Be Crowned” silver, the quality is the best around. Freddie sounds a little bit distant on the songs before the rock'n'roll medley but that's not due to the recording. This is also the first soundboard recording and the first recording of Queen live around.

  5. Well that's what the notes said, but it's hard to tell since I've never heard Duane sing. I have heard BO sing Hoochie Coochie Man. Listen here (it's a Captain Skipper remaster!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5HDJ6wTX0c
  6. The Flo and Eddie era, also known as the "Vaudeville band" is one of my favorite Zappa periods! Fillmore East, Just Another Band and Chunga are some of the funniest, 200 Motels too.
  7. The original Allman Brothers Band was one of those bands that would play the same set list every night but put on a totally different show, like LZ. This one's an excellent show with Duane push, push, pushing the band the whole way. It's the second show of the night, so just one set but with an extended double encore including a very rare version of Johnny B. Goode featuring Duane on vocals!
  8. Brother in law comes over on Sundays for old movie night. We're going to BBQ and I invited a few friends over too. I got to go buy some beer and tortillas!

Some of the finest musicians to ever grace the planet including our own 22yo Tal. A great sounding show in my opinion.
  11. "New" Allman Brothers soundboard!!!! Jan 23, 1971 late show. Damn! This band was totally on fire! RIP Duane and Barry!
  12. We watched at my house. I heard lots of Jimmy Page in his guitar playing, even my wife and grown kids noticed. Jack's one of the only people playing that kind of music these days.

Neal and Jack and Me 05. Elephant Talk 06. Lark's Tongues in Aspic, Part II Robert Fripp dissolved King Crimson in 1974 stating that "being a rock star is interfering with my personal life." In the late 70's he began to re emerge, excited by the punk and new wave ethic. He produced the first two Peter Gabriel albums and played guitar on the third (Melt), he also contributed to Blondie's Parallel Lines, The Talking Heads' Fear of Music and the first and third Roaches albums and began performing with bands either off stage or under the alias "Dusty Rhodes". Then in 1981 he reformed King Crimson with Adrian Belew (Talking Heads) Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel) and Bill Bruford (King Crimson '72-'74, Yes '68-'72, Genesis tour '76 and UK '78-'79). This is from their first tour and everyone in the band is happy and excited to be playing KC music. I saw the November shows in San Francisco and Fripp was so excited that he actually stood up at one point!
  15. Custard Pie was one of my earliest bootlegs, I got it in the very early eighties. This is a great show, it really showcases Pagey and Bonzo. Robert's voice takes a while to get warmed up but you hardly notice because the band is on fire. Yep, a classic!
  16. Gary Burton on vibraphone with a pre PMG Pat Metheny and a pre Oregon Ralph Towner and one of the greatest jazz rhythm sections ever: Eberhard Weber and Bob Moses! Whoa! Today is National Beer Day here in the good ol' US of A! From Wikipedia: National Beer Day is a celebration of the Cullen–Harrison Act being signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 22, 1933. That law went into effect on April 7 of that year, allowing people to buy, sell and drink beer again as long as it was < 3.2% alcohol-by-weight (4.05% alcohol-by-volume). People across the country responded by gathering outside breweries, some beginning the night before. On that first day, 1.5 million barrels of beer were consumed, inspiring the future holiday. Today, April 7 is recognized as National Beer Day and April 6 is known as New Beer's Eve.

Today's find at the local Whole paycheck (Foods): Dogfish Head's American Beauty, an Imperial Pale Ale http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/the-brews/occasional-rarities/american-beauty/index.htm Chef sez: It's a big bottle, I usually feel ripped off by 22 oz. bottles, I want that last 2 oz. This is a 750ml (25.4 oz.) bottle! They call it an "imperial pale ale" and it's sweet and thick for a pale ale, definitely a double. There is a distinctly toasted taste to it, I suppose that's the granola they used to brew it. That's the second most suggested ingredient from their online suggestion box for a Grateful Dead beer. I guess the number one suggestion is still a federal crime! This stuff is bitter, when it was cold it was so bitter as to taste metallic. As it warmed it just went down easier and easier, maybe too easy for a 9% beer! Just one really did the job.
  19. For pure Rock and Roll attitude, and a voice that just radiates emotion, Janis Joplin is hard to beat.

  21. Listening to Bob Marley's last show. Pittsburgh 1980. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZUQLERfpNg Junior Marvin's guitar solo in Heathen is crazy! This is THE version of Redemption Song. The way Bob sings Zion Train is like he knows it's his last show!
  22. It's finally raining in California! Or at least I think it's rain, I haven't seen it for so long I not entirely sure...
  23. RIP John Renboure. After more than 50 of playing music his journey here has ended. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Renbourn
