  1. They should have called it after Karac died. Nothing significant happened after then.
  2. A SB of June 23rd, '77 might be a real letdown. Mike's audience recording is such a fine recording, clear vocals and keyboards like a SB but with that electric vibe of the audience. That's just me, I prefer good audience recordings anyway.
  3. My current fav is Fort Worth but that may be because it's the newest one and I've been playing it a lot lately. I really like the last Landover show, and listened to it regularly when it first came out. I'm not sure what I'd say next month...
  4. Try the 22nd, it's not a great recording but the band is on fire!
  5. I like the disc but I expect to LOVE Page and Plant. The mix is awful! It's like they tried to fix it later by turning the treble and bass controls way up! It really does sound like a demo, Page should have produced it.
  6. I did not get anything Led Zeppelin related but I did get 20 grams of gallium, a metal which melts at 85F/30C. If you hold it in your hand long enough, it melts into a liquid state: when you drop it on the table it instantly changes back to a solid.
  7. POURING down rain here in Oakland and California in general. Three to six inches predicted today, up to ten inches in some places! Winds to 50 miles per hour here in the East Bay hills, 70 mile per hour winds and blizzard conditions predicted for the Sierra. Combine that with three years of drought to weaken all the trees and a few weeks of rain, I expect downed trees to knock out the power any time now. All local schools and many businesses are closed. I plan on going hiking in the hills today!
  8. Seattle '72! This is a great show, the band is tight but loose! If you've never heard it...
  9. Detroit '73 soundboard. Too bad there's not more of this!
  10. Agreed! I downloaded the 24/96 versions and they just sound excellent, it's the same with the Rush and King Crimson 24/96 remasters. Of course this is only going to appeal to people who care deeply about sound quality. Which DAC are you using to decode the files? I'm using the Sabre32 in my Oppo DVD/CD player to decode files from an external drive. They are played through a pair of 400 watt rated (bench tested to over 600) McIntosh amps pushing a pair of vintage 1977 Infinity QLS-1 speakers in a sound treated garage. It's pure Zeppelin bliss!
  11. I gave it a good listen last night and I'm blown away! The original album sounds great, so much detail has been revealed, there sure are a lot of guitar tracks! And the extras are the best ones so far, the guitar track for TSRtS is awesome, maybe better than the album version, Rain Song is definitely better without the piano track and the vocal-less No Quarter is so cool that I listened to it three times!
  12. If there's anti matter and dark energy then might there be the opposite of space outside the boundary of the universe? What would be the opposite of time?
  13. RIP Jack Bruce! I just can't believe Ginger Baker out lived him!
  14. Weird! I just now finished listening to Whole Lotta Love medley from Berkeley '71
  15. Yes, a very common site in the '70s was the "__________s Do It Better" bumper sticker. There was also the "I Brake For _________s" stickers and the ever popular "One Way" Christian stickers. The one on my '59 Chevy said "I Brake for Hallucinations", no wonder I got pulled over so much!
  16. 1977-06-21, AGAIN! I just can't get enough of this show...
  17. It's my old radio DJ name. I had a show called The Free Lunch where I played bootlegs, only unreleased stuff. It was on Berkeley Liberation Radio, a Berkeley pirate radio station.
  18. Perseids will be obscured by moon light this year
  19. Whole Lotta Love, Frankfurt '80 Page is in total control!
  20. Rock and Roll When the Levee Breaks In My Time of Dying The Ocean
