However, tornado's of another sort can be quite comical, thrilling and nearly unbelievable. I've seen these before but not as good as this one. Reggie29
Thoughts and best wishes to all those who have suffered from those nasty Tornados in the US. It's been torrential rain for most of the day here and more tomorrow. These were filmed by some divers off the NSW Coast not far from Sydney yesterday morning. They were lucky because they managed to get back in their boat and escape before the twisters hit them. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8255066/dramatic-waterspouts-seen-during-nsw-storms

Silver Rider
Jun 1, 2011 Multiple tornadoes slammed western and central Massachusetts, destroying buildings, flipping vehicles and leaving four people dead and dozens injured. At least three tornadoes struck the city of Springfield, Mass., alone, with a fourth unconfirmed twister possibly touching down in the city, Mayor Dominic J. Sarno said. Many of those storms also blasted the areas surrounding the city of more than 150,000 residents 90 miles west of Boston. The Massachusetts twisters hit as unstable weather threatened the entire Northeast, bringing tornado watches to Philadelphia, New York and Boston. The situation in Massachusetts was so bad that Gov. Deval Patrick declared a statewide state of emergency, calling up 1,000 members of the National Guard. Two of the four fatalities in Massachusetts occurred in West Springfield, and there was one each in Springfield and Brimfield, a state official said, correcting earlier official statements. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHwCj1_Q9xE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbHLYkvdEWo Edited June 2, 2011 by Silver Rider

planted
Hi , Sorry I haven't updated here in a bit. Yeah, Wednesday night was not fun. Tornadoes just don't come around here very often! My daughter and I did head for the basement for a short time. The weather was weird here in Southern Worcester County, no leaf movement, very vivid colors, and a fog that would not lift. Some of the stories I have heard are unbelievable. Like the woman in Monson, MA who found hay stuck in the wall of her barn, resembling a dart board. Try to imagine that. Or, the mail that was found in Natick, a suburb of Boston...clear across the state. Friends had insulation in their yard, clearly from a home that was leveled. What I was most affected by personally was how quickly things can change. We complain about the cold and snow here, but very rarely do you hear of someone losing their home. I am referring to roof collapses, which do happen. I hope this is not a trend for the Summer of 2011. Hugs to all.
