The actress' rep confirmed the news, revealing that only a few friends and family were present. "I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rocknroll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family." She added: "The couple had been engaged since the summer." According to reports, the service was so private that not even Kate's parents were aware that she was walking down the aisle. This is the third marriage for the Titanic star, whose friend Leonardo DiCaprio also served as best man. She was previously married to Skyfall director Sam Mendes, with whom she has a son, and Jim Threapleton, with whom she has a daughter. Ned Rocknroll, who changed his name by deed poll from Ned Abel Smith, is Richard Branson's nephew and currently works for the space-travel branch of Virgin. Well, that's a bit rude...and way off base, imo. I don't profess or even care to know about her private life and affairs...that's her business and I'm not a gossip maven. But to suggest she has no acting talent and only gets offered parts through sexual means is bullshit and something I take offense to. Her work in "Heavenly Creatures", "The Reader", "Sense and Sensibility", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Little Children", "Iris", "Quills", "Finding Neverland" is top-notch. She was the only thing tolerable about "Titanic". She is one of the better actresses of her generation and she's deserved every bit of acclaim she's received. Why she married another douche proves that the best actors / actresses typically have unresolved issues which also enhance their acting talents.
