Disco Duck
Another musician from the classic rock era has left us. His keyboard work on "Riders on the Storm" was part of the soundtrack of my preteen years. My condolences to his family.
reswati
It's indeed confirmed by the official Doors website. RIP Ray, thanks for the vibe. Send regards to Jim on the other side.
redrum
Wow! Time flies. In '67 I found their second album in the street. It had been run over by a car but still played without skipping. R.I.P. Ray.
achillestand
A very sad loss. The Doors introduced me to rock and roll and were my favorite band for many years. Go in peace Ray.

The Only Way To Fly
I seem to remember seeing posters when the band were doing festival gigs & The Doors being on the bill. IDK if they ever played the same night/gig but was wondering if there's any commentary from the band on Jim Morrison & The Doors in general. I love The Doors; but get the impression that Morrison was probably quite difficult to deal with. Any thoughts/comments?? Thanks!

Disco Duck
That's right, the Doors were the house band at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go early in their career. I'm glad the establishment's owners paid homage to Manzarek.

chef free
Ray was a thoughtful person who embraced and embodied the best of the 60's ideals. I was always impressed by his interviews. He did not deny the dangers of drugs and alcohol but he did not discredit the enlightening effects either. I loved that he said that once the doors of perception are opened, drugs are no longer necessary. Rest in peace and love, Ray! And thank you for everything!
