Disco Duck
Why do you have a problem with it? I wish more guys rocked the long hair in sports. I miss the 1970s when guys let their freak flag fly.I don't have a problem with it. I only mentioned it because most MLB players don't wear their hair that long nowadays. Like you, I'm old enough to remember when many MLB players sported shaggy manes, luxuriant mustaches and sideburns.
LedZeppfan77
Now the off season games begin. And one writer on Sportsline is predicting that Chris Davis will be getting $100 million for 5 years because of how easily he hits the ball out. Even with his large number of KO's. They are not saying it won't be Baltimore. I expect the Orioles he would like to stay with? As for Wieters they say he likley will turn down Baltimore's first qualifying offer and test the waters. Might be tougher to keep him but then again they say some teams may be scared away because he had some type of reconstructive surgery on his arm. Nice run by the Mets who were not expected to be there as KC was. Getting back is no simple matter as my team found out last year. I wonder where Greinke will wind up? And who the Dodgers hire? And if there is any big shake up on my own team? I do not really see that with some of the chore players. But we know the UFA's and we know pitching, starting pitching especially will be big. I hope we go after a big name pitcher. They rumoured Puig is likely not going to be wearing Dodger Blue so among the teams mentioned were my Orioles. He would fit nicely in right field. Next to Adam Jones.
Disco Duck
Game, set and match. Best team in the world officially in KC. Look for me on the news in the victory parade.DAS, how was the victory parade? Did you get within TV camera range?

DAS
DAS, how was the victory parade? Did you get within TV camera range?A nightmare. The city was projecting a crowd of 200,000 people, over 800,000 showed up. Traffic was at a dead halt miles away from downtown KC. Cars were being abandoned on the interstates. The metro was so over-packed you couldn't get within a mile of the stage from the ocean of people. Commerce shut down, the city forgot to put out porta-potties, there were no trash cans so downtown got buried in garbage, there was no food or water available since all business were closed. I tried to meet some friends but there were so many people it was impossible to walk through town. The public transportation was so backed up that thousands walked hours away from town to call rides. They even blocked off parts of the city because it was too overpopulated. They were not prepared for anything of this magnitude. Check out some of these pictures. The second one in particular boggles my mind, though doesn't surprise me after being there.Bedsides the disaster the city made of the event it was fun to have a celebration here and see everyone so happy. It was definitely an experience, I just probably won't attend another victory rally downtown. But I'd say we gave all the players a reason to come back next year. Strider
Have anyone played this game called "Mini Blackjack Baseball"? http://www.keytocasino.com/en/casino-games_mini-blackjack-baseball-domain-holdings-limited.htmlI'm interested in baseball and gambling, so this is a possibility to kill two ducks with the one shot. But I need reviews Guys, any thoughts?Well, it definitely sounds like a possibility to kill your bank account. I can certainly think of better uses of your time and money. paul carruthers
Dusty Baker as the new Nats manager--not sure what to say about that one. I'm guessing the Nats fanbase probably thinks that team needs some kind of kick in the ass, and maybe Dusty is the guy to do it. At the very least, I don't expect Bryce Harper next spring to open his mouth about World Series rings. Also, I think the big MLB awards will be all coming out next week.... paul carruthers
I'm thinking Bud Black must be charmed, the way teams seem very willing to give him a job when--as far as I know--the man hasn't done much in the way of winning at every stop he's had in the Majors??? SuperDave
Congrats to the Royals on their World Series victory, they played like champions and are well-deserving of being the best team in baseball. Congrats to my Mets as well, they played their hearts out but in the end it wasn't enough. But I am very proud of them- most people didn't expect them to get this far this year- and am equally as proud to be a New York Mets fan! Definitely not disappointed in them (the only thing that I'm disappointed about is that Jacob deGrom is going to cut his hair LOL), thanks guys for making this an enjoyable baseball season! See ya next year. ...Well done on this front ST! In agreement with you. BTW, Jacob has confirmed, he will not be cutting his hair. The Mets had a great year and I certainly was not expecting them to get this far. I thought they might contend but fall short as I didn't expect these big moves at the trading deadline or a complete collapse by the Nats. That's why Dusty is in DC now and not Matt Williams! Well, the Mets and KC got to the WS with nearly identical payrolls at around $120-125 million but that didn't get LA there with $314 million. That figure is just ridiculous! Just hoping the Mets can contend once again next year....we'll see as 2015 season is now over! Edited November 8, 2015 by SuperDave
LedZeppfan77
I am pretty sure Chris Davis has already ripped up his qualifying offer from the O's? He is splattered on the front page of every baseball site as one of the top pick ups on the market. I do believe we would be better to pay Wieters if we are given the choice? But its a tough call. History tells me that shitbag owner of ours will keep his money and fuck us as usual
jimmie ray
^ I seriously saw an article in today's newspaper saying the Met's Daniel Murphy might be a suitable replacement for Chris Davis, if he doesn't resign with the Orioles. kingzoso
Congratulations to Saint Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina on his 8th straight Gold Glove Award and to Cardinals Right Fielder Jason Heyward on his 3rd Gold Glove Award (first one as a Cardinal). kingzoso
This is Fact and a direct quote from Major League Baseball:Mike Matheny, the head coach of the Saint Louis Cardinals "has already done what no manager in Baseball history had done before him by leading a team to the postseason in his first four seasons on the job". This a very real and fascinating fact. For all the Saint Louis Cardinals "haters" look or "google" it. Mike Matheny made Baseball History, even if He has not won a World Series as the Cardinals Manager. Regardless of that, Mike Matheny will go down in MLB history for this and this fact alone. If this is a known and proven fact, am I wrong?I do not expect any replies to this post because the usual people that used to reply to this topic are forlorn and long ago have been completely embarrassed about what their baseball did during the 2015 season. You know who you are and to whom I am referring too. Edited November 17, 2015 by kingzoso

kingzoso
Mike Matheny, of the Saint Louis Cardinals, came in second place in the National League Manager of the Year Award. The Saint Louis Cardinals, under the tutelage of Mr. Matheny, have been to the Post-Season every year since Mike became the Cardinals Manager. Mike Matheny has already made Baseball History as the first Manager to lead His team to the Post-Season Four Fucking Years In A Row. There has NEVER been a Major League Manager to do this in the whole History of the Great Game of Baseball. The Saint Louis Cardinals are and will always be considered the Penultimate Team and the team that other MLB teams wish to aspire too. kingzoso
Hey, Rick. I hope that you have less(er) expectations for your Baltimore Orioles for the 2016 baseball season. Edited November 20, 2015 by kingzoso
LedZeppfan77
Hey, Rick. I hope that you have less(er) expectations for your Baltimore Orioles for the 2016 baseball season. Now why would that be fucking possible Mr shit stirrer? Free agency has not even taken place yet. Lets wait and see if this owner of ours ponies up the bucks to keep Davis or Wietres. if we lose both we can still contend if they get some pitching. We have a good team and yours is in big trouble with the Cubs coming on like a Freight train. Enough baseball for now. ITS NOVEMBER. I am a big hockey fan

kingzoso
Bad news for the Baltimore Orioles as David Price just agreed to a 7 year deal with the Boston Red Sox at a reported $217 million. And it seems like some dude named Chris Davis may be donning a brand new Saint Louis Cardinals uniform. I don't know who this person is so it does not matter to Me. I would rather see Jason Heyward back in a Cardinals uniform. However if the Saint Louis Cardinals do pick up this person, I know that it will be for the betterment of the Cardinals and will also help to propel them to another trip to the 2016 Post-Season which will make it 6 years in a row for the Mighty Saint Louis Cardinals to achieve such an accomplishment.
