List of Guitars that Jimmy Page Plays

The danelectro was called a DC-59 model and the acoustic guitar he played onstage for the 75-77 acoustic sets was a Martin D-28. The only other guitar I can think of that is missing off the top of my head is that black les paul custom, the 3 humbucker black beauty model, and the Gibson artist used once at Knebworth.

Jimmy's Daneletro was a 1960 model 3021 (manufactured from 1958-1969). It was actually assembled from parts from several guitars. The designation DC59 is the name of the reissue that came out in 1998.

And yes, Jimmy did use a Strat on In the Evening, as well as For Your Life on Presence.

But yes, Jimmy's played literally hundreds of guitars, and as was said above, it would be easier to list the ones he hasn't played.

The first time I recall seing Page with an Ovation was in 1984 when he played with Roy Harper on Jugula. In the 70s he used a Gibson J200, a Gibson Dove (or Hummingbird ?), a Giannini Craviola, a Harmony, and of course, his Martin D28(s), as far as acoustics. I don't know what kind of 12-string acoustic he used for OTHAFA and on the third album.

:hysterical:

Hey, there's way worse than me!

It would be different if I wasn't a guitar player. That would just be creepy!

Point is, I've owned nearly every guitar mentioned here. Les Pauls, Strats, Teles, Danos, Ovations, Martins...so naturally I can spot these things. And when I see an interview that describes modifications or model years, that is a language I know well, so it sticks in my head, much like the options that designate an RS from an SS from a Z28 when we're talking about Chevy Camaros. Small block engine. Big block engine. Engine codes and horsepower. Hideaway headlights. Muncie M-21 4-speed, Powerglide or Turbo 350 automatic. It's all there in my grey matter.

I was sure that it was an Ovation that he used in Vancouver on the 71 tour. The odd shape of the guitars back was what made me think so. Anyway's, he does have one and it can be added to the list. Thanks Ev
