VH1 Rock Honors Led Zeppelin

Since the VH1 rock honors have honored The Who and Heart/Judas Priest/DefLeppard/ZZtop/OZZY/Genisis. Do you all think that Zep would reunite for this type of award?

I thought Zep was already honored by them several months ago. Didn't Wolfmother do a performance? I think JP and JPJ were there if I'm not mistaken.

I think it would be perfect. Heres the dream scenario:

Robert's tour is over, the other three still wanna tour, so they reunite for a North American tour in Summer and Europe in the Fall then another North American tour and since rock honors only honors one band now they can be the one.

I brought this topic up on another thread (regarding the Who). :)

Robert and Alison have added more dates through late October of this year, will be recording their follow up CD and have a live DVD taping soon.

It would make sense for VH1 to honor them as they just honored The Who.

That could be a good reason to do another one-off.

We'll see. It's their decision.

They were honored and Wolfmother did Communication Breakdown. (JP and JPJ did not look impressed)Interesting though because as I watched VH1 Rock Honors The Who, I was a bit miffed that Zep didn't have a whole show dedicated to them.

And as usual, Dave Grohl was whoring himself out to drum for The Who. What a dick! I'm sorry. I know there's some ridiculous love fest for this asshole but I can see right through him. First he wants to drum for Zep NOW he wants to drum for The Who. Whore. But does anybody remember when Nirvana first came out and said bands like Zeppelin, The Who etc were fossils? Of course not.

Led Zeppelin were not honored by VH1, VH1 just broadcasted/showed them being inducted into the British Rock N Roll Hall of Fame ceremony a year or two ago (when Wolfmother performed "Communication Breakdown").

Thats true, there wa no Zep Rock Honors, I have been thinking about that. That would be a perfect opportunity to get together again. I love the Who, but they suck without Entwistle. not too mention, Pete doesnt play squat since they brought Simon back in the mix. they were done after the 2000 tour, when it was the three of them and Zak, now Pete barely plays and Rogers voice is gone. I was very impressed with The Pearl Jam tribute and Incubus was real good on cant Explain. Flaming Lips...not so much.

Hmmm my mistake. I thought they were included in the very first Rock Honors with Queen, Judas Priest, etc. Oh well. Strike that. LOL

Pino Palladino is no slouch on the bass. He's a top session and live bass master.

He's been around quite a long time (playing live with John Mayer when not on the road with the Who or in the studio).

My speculation would be that VH1's first choice would've been Led Zeppelin before all those other bands. My guess is that Zeppelin's camp vetoed the idea. That's just my theory though.

I hope not- VH1 isn't much of an honor in rock music as it is pure commercialism. I hate that show. Pure exploitation. I can only imagine how they'd dress up Led Zeppelin- probably require them to wear those stupid LZ II pilot outfits and fly around stage with Peter Pan wires. Besides, Led Zeppelin already recieved all the "honor" they can handle- if 20 million fans trying to get a handful tickets to the reunion show isn't much of an honor, then I don't know what is.

Yep he really went out of tune on their own songs.

Pearl Jam as always delivers the goods. It was fitting that they were last band to play before The Who. Eddie Vedder's voice still cranks a hunk of grunge.

I don't know about Zep on VH1, that's just me...

Peter Grant never wanted Zep to play on TV....I think a much bigger tribute is more befitting, if there is ever such thing. Zep is just much too huge...

And if they're going to get together, I'd rather it be THEIR own reunion show, not by another media production.
