  1. That was great info Steve about Ariane and makes a lot of sense!
  2. Use both the mayo and butter as makes it more decadent and just so good! An eatery on a golf course nearby makes them this way and they are so tasty! They put the butter on the side and just pour it in!
  3. Agreed Strider! Don't ever doubt Harry Callahan as not good for one's health!
  4. Good thing Harry Callahan isn't around or he'd have something to say about your meal choice!
  5. Radio personality Dan Ingram at 83. He was a fixture on 77 WABC AM back in the 1970's. Basically Top 40 radio. It was a time when these stations used an echo effect on the broadcasts.
  6. Nice photo as that's been my profile photo for several years!

Agreed Strider and especially what they did with the greens on Saturday. Then come Sunday as they know what they did it was much more manageable. Not exactly fair when you have big names like Rory, Tiger and Jordan not even make the cut. Need to make this fair. You want those guys in the hunt Saturday and Sunday as good for ratings and makes a better tourney.
  8. Could be but they do drink. Have seen video of them drinking.
  9. Pretty cool Sam. Thanks. I can't read most of it, but you make out references to the first rehearsal.
  10. I loved this episode and I didn't realize how much Obama enjoys his food! I know he loves his wine, smokes and another thing which I give the ok for. I don't think Barrack was a good president as too inexperienced for the position, but I've always thought of him being a good family man and pretty good guy with an open mind for culture and good cuisine, which I will always be a supporter of! I'm such a big foodie as many of you may have that idea! FYI Strider. I just made this photo my Wallpaper. A bit blurry around the edges but generally good. Center photo is just too small. May look for same photo with larger resolution size.
  11. I forget what I preordered the book for as I did it several months ago, when available on Amazon, but seems reasonable considering a hardcover and page length. I'm not looking for a discount as not overpriced. I have my order confirmation and will look and edit to this. I paid $ 73.39 for the book and hope it's worth it. I had some discounts with Prime and other things and not complaining. Just notice that price has dropped about $4 and with pre-order I should get lowest price but will notify Amazon about this to make sure I get this.
  12. Agreed Strider and couldn't believe it when I heard this in the a.m. I loved both No Reservations and Parts Unknown. I've probably seen every episode of both as I love the culinary and cultural aspects of the various places he visited. I subscribe to his shows on Netflix. Such a loss and will be missed so much. Just wondering why he had to chose this way out? This is getting a lot of coverage today being a big personality for CNN and the food world and his influence in food circles.
  13. Three Dead and Company shows: June 13th in Hartford XFinity Center June 15th and 16th in NYC at CitiField
  14. You can't beat a good Barolo with some fine Italian cuisine!
  15. You will love GVF as they put on a great show. Saw them in NJ a few weeks ago. I don't know how much longer they will be playing venues like Starland Ballroom? It seats 2,500 and all GA. I was told the show sold out in six minutes. Pretty amazing for a band with only one EP to their name plus a few otther songs added to it. We will see once they release their first full length album later in the summer. Will also be seeing them at Panorama in NYC in late July.
  16. May be a good idea to organize all of your orders on a pc in a folder and then you can check these and know what you have ordered. May want to put the shirts into categories for bands. If Zep by tours, album designs etc. Just a suggestion and may help you alleviate some of the duplication. Can always sell the dups on Ebay or whatever.
  17. Nice job Strider. The sauce looks decadent! Did you make the cheesecake as well or bakery bought?
  18. I would not want to live near here. They are expecting a major eruption/explosion of this volcano shortly. Something like this can't be pinned down precisely unfortunately. For now it's the lava flows which are doing so much damage overall. Very sad for all those who have lost their homes and had their lives turned upside down.
  19. Well, Ive been to Pere-Lachaise in Paris and seen Jim Morrison's gravestone and I'm sure he's below it. But, I'm sure many out there will doubt he's actually buried there, just as some who doubt today that Elvis died in 1977 in his home at Graceland on the throne. Elvis would be 83 now. Most conspiracy theories are that and have no substance. I'm sure there are some worth going into as there are doubts about the truth of some. Just a matter of knowing which ones. It's not about picking certain one but reading the facts of these and whether it all adds up to truth or not. There are certainly some out there which can be disputed and possibly denounced overall as truth. Just the law of averages for everything, I suppose.
  20. Definitely BUK and hoping for the right show to get me down to the Starland again. Great venue! Many friends of mine have seen shows here and love this venue. I know of some great Wilco shows there. They are a great band and saw them at the Cap in PC last year. Must see them, if you get the chance. Hopefully, next time on a Saturday and not a Friday with the crawl in my car. I may have walked there faster than driving last night! YIKES! Wears you out as I felt it after the show being in my car for 3.5+ hours and standing during the show in GA seating(worth it for such a great show). Glad I didn't drive home and stayed overnight close by! Way to do it!
  21. Not having to drive 2+ hours after the Greta Van Fleet show in NJ back to CT. It would have been after 2 am if I did that. Just so tired as well. A normal drive of two hours to the show at the Starland Ballroom in NJ wound up being 3 hours 45 minutes with such horrific traffic. Yet, there wasn't a single accident involved. Just insane and I left about 3:15 from CT and arrived around 7 pm or so. I wouldn't have done this for a normal band on a Friday but wanted to see this band so much and the end result was worth it. Plus, I got to meet up with a forum member! So, all good! Still, a lot of aggravation with the ordeal!
  22. Nice review BUK of a great show last night. It was great to meet up with you and everyone before the show at the Brass Monkey. Nice local joint. I think the sound was better from my vantage point than yours. In general it was rather clear, but a bit distorted here and there. I was basically dead center about ten feet in front of the sound board. I think Jake is a better guitarist than you lead him to be. I think he is quite good but as you said there are some spots he could be better. He should improve in time. The highlight for me was the new song "Love Her, Leave Her, Take Her, Believe Her." The song is pretty powerful and had a big jam and improv in it. This is the one that contained "That's Alright Mama." Other highlights were Howlin' Wolf's "Evil" as well as "Edge of Darkness," "Flower Power and "Highway Tune." Overall a great show and experience and the whole crowd was so into them and knew all the songs from the EP. I was next to some guys in their mid to late 20's and are huge fans of this band. They are all big Zeppelin fans as well, which makes sense. This band will probably get more popular, depending on the quality of material they put out and challenge themselves by being diverse. We shall see. I will definitely go see them again. I actually am as they are playing the Panorama Festival in NYC (Randall's Island) on day 3.
  23. Thanks for the info on Sayreville. Looking forward to a great show.
  24. Never seen Neil Young and hope to one day. Too bad not closer to NYC. Would love that he adds other dates!
