  1. Bought the album when it was first released just because Jimmy was on it!
  2. Ordered this book on day of release. Happy to be able to own two books with two different Jimmy Page signatures. I am most interested on what Jimmy writes about the guitars and that famous amp. (which he never wanted to talk about back in the 70s)
  3. Probably new interviews with silent footage already previously seen. Will this catapult Jimmy to releasing more live shows?
  4. Just received my new German pressing today and it saws Wreck instead of Maid. The sound quality is much better than the American pressing and the vinyl feels like 180 gram while the American version is thinner.
  5. And it is Made in Mexico. Quality is not so good. The Mirror Tele is Made in USA and a much better quality guitar.
  6. It is the ORIGINAL GUITAR RESTORED! I am typing engish.
  7. http://ledzepnews.com/2019/01/24/jimmy-page-quietly-revealed-his-restored-original-dragon-telecaster-for-the-first-time-in-50-years/ It is the original.
  8. All the original parts exist unless you know something I don't............
  9. This is most likely the Fender Custom Shop Dragon Telecaster.
  10. Jimmy's Supro amp had a unique distortion. Good luck with trying to recreate that!
  11. 1. It is not part of the Led Zeppelin catalog and 2. It was released twice. Originally in 1994 and again (expanded) in 2004.
  12. You are correct. I mixed up the dates of Page seeing Plant vs Bonham. 7/31/18 is correct. Dates come from Evenings with Led Zeppelin: The Complete Concert Chronicle 1968-1980 by Dave Lewis and Mike Tremaglio
  13. Some rare audio of Tim Rose at the BBC with John (Bonzo) Bonham supporting on drums. Bonzo toured with Rose from June 28 1968 to approx. August 7 1968. During this time Jimmy Page was looking for members to replace former Yardbirds Keith Relf and Jim McCarty who quit the band. It was either on July 12 or 19 where Jimmy would witness Bonzo playing with Tim Rose and was blown away by his performance and knew without a doubt who would play the drums in his band. (Keep in mind Bonzo is still playing a smaller Ludwig Kit; It wouldn’t be till January 1969 where the big 26” bass drum would enter the scene.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JXpmiB5M0Q
  14. If you are referring to some of the overdubs where the notes "wobble", my opinion is it is a MXR Phase 90. (Jimmy also used this pedal on Achilles) The pedal was first manufactured in 1974 so at the time Jimmy was using new equipment! There are thousands of pedals out there. Including systems where they are grouped in a pedal board form. My favorite distortion pedal is the Klon Centaur. (Rare to find but if you get your hands on one, it is well worth it!) Or you can still buy a Sola Sound Tone Bender Professional MKII. (Jimmy used it a lot: Good Times Bad Times rhythm guitar is an example. (front pickup))
  15. Received the book today. There are only 4 photographs in it that I have not seen before. (March 1969 rehearsal photo, Jones and Page tuning up backstage at the Marquee, Bonzo in 1976 and Jimmy Page newly shaven out in the field with with his Les Paul on the Australia/New Zealand tour.) The book focuses more on the O2 show than the complete 1980 tour! Disappointed.
  16. Would anyone expect anything less from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals? They have a history of ridiculous decisions. (And at least one Judge has "issues" that forced him to retire early) No, nothing to do with Kavanaugh!
  17. I own a few different versions of The Song Remains The Same. On vinyl, I own the original release along with a limited edition white vinyl of the Kevin Shirley mix along with the RTI Half-Speed Remaster of the Kevin Shirley mix. In regards to the quality of the Box itself: I like the vinyl sleeves along with the CD sleeves as well as the booklet. I just wish the outside box was the same quality. (Jimmy did this with his signed copies of the Soundtracks box) In regards to the audio: Overall impression is that the guitar is more prominent in the mix. With that, other instruments suffer. Mainly John Bonham's drums becomes the victim. (Outside of Kevin Shirley neutering of Bonzo's bass drum in the original 2007 mix) Depending on what song, John Paul Jones' bass becomes more or less prominent. For example, on Rock and Roll, Jones' bass is less prominent with Over The Hills and Far Away it is more prominent. Then there is Dazed and Confused. Before the violin bow section the bass is prominent, after the violin bow section the bass is significantly less prominent. I have never heard this on any vinyl before! I listened to the download version and the issues I mentioned above are consistent as well. So it is how the audio is mastered. Additionally, Robert Plant's introduction (edited) to the track The Song Remains The Same is on the download but not on the vinyl. I wished that the edits to some of the songs were put back but that was wishing too much I guess. Especially No Quarter; there is a lot of empty vinyl space on that side. Overall the physical production of the box is very good to excellent. The audio (per the vinyl) is disappointing.
  18. Video looks like from a restaurant not his home.
  19. I recall Jimmy saying that he was not happy that no Black Crowes songs they performed live tracks were allowed to be released because of their record company.
  20. http://ledzepnews.com/2018/01/23/leaked-led-zeppelin-how-the-west-was-won-live-album-remaster/
  21. RIP Tom. Thanks for the music.
  22. More Humble Pie than Led Zeppelin.
