  1. I'm just looking through what to listen to today, I think I'll have a CD day, may start with Genesis (Foxtrot of course) then a couple of Beatles American albums I got from a friend, each CD has a mono and stereo version of the album on it.Then Black, after that Al Jolson and Gracie Fields.
  2. If you are getting Sergeant Pepper get the mono version as it took far longer to produce. Over here in the UK most of their albums (vinyl) were released on Parlophone. So I don't think (unless you are planning to sell them on ) that it matters.
  3. Not really unhappy just thoughtful, it would have been my Mums birthday today, when my Dad was dying he wanted to make it to Mums birthday but he died on the 12th, just 2 days before, as I say not really unhappy, just a bit more thoughtful and quieter than usual. Time for some Al Jolson and Gracie Fields (My Mums favourite record of all time is Gracie Fields "Around the World" and my friend downloaded a copy of it for me a few years ago. Strange when I think of it but My Mum ans Dad were boyfriend and girlfriend from the age of 15, they lived next door to each other . The only time they spent apart when my Dad was in the Royal Navy during World War II. they got married on December 15 1945 when they were 21 and stayed married until they both died at the age of 84 in 2009. co-incidentally they both died within a week of each others birthday. That was the real meaning of true love that few people ever find. As it says on their headstone "Together for Eternity". Sorry if this is boring some people but it's nice to think that some people will read this and understand.
  4. Fuckin' hell it's Fred Titmus - Half Man Half Biscuit
  5. Just a note - NTSC= Never The Same Colour. There are also different formats of NTSC
  6. The interview was too short. I'm hoping that in the extended show on Friday that we will hear more from Jimmy
  7. Well said JGaul, the same can be said for all of their albums, not a bad one amongst them.
  8. Rock 'n' Roll Star - Barclay James Harvest
  9. The only dreams I seem to have are about very tall buildings. I am terrified of heights.
  10. At the moment there is bugger all on the telly so I'm torn between National Lampoons Christmas Vacation or Life of Brian...........Heads it is....National Lampoons.
  11. Everything I have is in our living room (it's about 20 feet by13 feet) it takes up one complete wall. plus the speakers are situated on adjacent walls. I have a seperates system two turntables the one I use is a direct drive Technics that I purchased in 1979 with an Ortofon OMPro cartridge and stylus, I use a Kenwood receiver which puts out 125 watts RMS per channel, I have a Kenwood tape to tape cassette deck, I use a Technics CD player most of the time but I also have a Sony CD player hooked up as well, I have a Kenwood graphic equaliser.I also have a Kenwood turntable I have never used yet.My pride and joy are my speakers they are a pair of Sansui SP-Z9 II, which have six speakers in each cabinet including a seventeen and a half inch bass, and they weigh 39 Kgs each !! and take 250 watts each My vinyl albums are in alphabetical order (I know sad bastard) my casstes, about 200 and my CDs about 3000 My family hate it and think it is an eyesore. In the same room I also have my seven guitars, unfortunately I do not play them very well. I don't think it is cluttered but my wife does. We also have a 42kg labrador, and there is still loads of floor space.
  12. I was rummaging through some stuff and I came across 3 magazines that were quite interesting, the first one is called RCD there is no date on it just Vol1 No2.In it there is a 7 page article and pictures of Led Zeppelin and Matt Resnicoff talks to Jimmy page, and Dave Lewis analyses concerts considered turning points in Zeppelins career, these are according to him,Royal Albert Hall; June 29 1969, Wembley Empire Pool;November 21 1971,Tampa Stadium Florida;May 5 1973, Earls Court London;May 24 1975,Olympichalle Munich;July 5 1980.It also contains the usual Discography and a list of Bootleg CDs. The second magazine is Rolling Stone of September 20th 1990. It is entitled "The Seventies" and contains a 5 page interview with Plant and Page and a few pictures thrown in. The third one is Q from December 1990 it has a full page colour advert for Remasters "2 CD,2 Cassette 3 LP".Then there is a 5 page interview with Plant and Page entitled "Apocalypse then" on various aspects of their career, there is also a quote from Robert abot Led Zeppelin "Just good time boys, loved by their fans, hated by their critics". Overall they make interesting reading and it was good to read the other articles from the groups of that time. Overall a great visit down memory lane. Robert also calls Led Zeppelin III The Cottage Album, I've never heard that expression before, I know where it was conceived but not what they called it themselves.I might just go through the mags again. Ther is also a large article on The Eagles which looks good.

  16. Your opinion is as valid as anybody elses RA
  17. Does this apply to all LZ tracks?? in that case the music must be shit to "Since I've been Loving You" by your reckoning. Also are you admitting that you don't listen to the lyrics, if so you really must be as moronic as your name, go back to neverending story and Limahl.
  18. Not really, looking back at how many tracks these Zep "fans" dislike, maybe there should be a new thread, Led Zeppelin songs you LIKE!!!!!!!
  19. Just found this thread about M*A*S*H, for all of those on this site who are interested it is shown on Comedy Central At 04.20 two shows daily Tuesday to Friday (U.K.). I have watched it time and time again and I still enjoy it. Any more information about the rest of the cast?
