  1. Thanks for the post and link, Jahfin. Very interesting, but I wasn't too surprised by Neil's comments. Sound seems to be of paramount importance to him with all his releases. I read somewhere (sorry I don't have a source) that Neil Young was pushing his Blu-Ray Archive Collection Vol. 1 over the standard DVD and especially the CD version. I was reading all the reviews over at Amazon where there are many who complain because the Blu-Ray is almost 300 dollars and the CD version under 100 dollars. But Neil has supposedly said there are big differences that one would notice. Here is what one person wrote who said it came directly from Neil's site. "Audio in the Blu-ray edition is presented in ultra-high resolution 24-bit / 192 kHz stereo PCM state-of-the-art master quality sound, while audio in the DVD edition is presented in high resolution 24-bit / 96 kHz stereo PCM audiophile quality sound. The CD edition is presented in standard resolution 16-bit / 44 kHz stereo PCM CD quality sound." I know in another post I read you were doing some things with radio and so maybe you can tell me if you think these technical numbers (which I've not researched the meanings of yet) would make a difference worth 200 dollars. I would be inerested in what you think. I'm glad Neil is releasing some music with Crazy Horse soon, his best band imo. Thanks! ......... missy
  2. I'm not sure of the year, (looks recent) but what a gorgeous performance of my favorite Eagles song. Wow......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahtxrccNliM
  3. I came across this clip of the opening of the Tampa '77 show. Not the best audio, but doesn't matter to me; brings back loads of memories. Somewhere in center field there was a 15 year old girl screaming, "omg, omg, it's them!!, it's really THEM!" A show I will never forget.......missy
  4. Hi my good friend, stick around have a PM coming your way in a few minutes! Hope all is well :) missy

  5. I was surprised to see the Stones had covered this Dobie Gray song, Drift Away. It's an excellent imo straight up Soul number and the Stones do a nice job with their cover. Note: This is an unreleased track from 1974 according to the You/Tube uploader. ......missy
  6. Hi Deb, Is your message box full? I am trying to send a PM but it says no go. Hope you are having a good morning! missy

  7. Hi Deb, Is your message box full? I am trying to send a PM but it says no go. Hope you are having a good morning! missy

  8. Wow, slave to zep, you did okay! Strider we open our gifts on Christmas Eve in my home so the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, lol. I got Harry Potter on Blu-Ray, The Deathly Hallows, Part 2. I also got The Lucy Show, Season 5, also 3 new shirts, a beautiful amber pendant, a black evening bag, new flatware, and the big surprise.......a turntable with a USB port thing! Now, after years I can finally drag out all my vinyl from the closet. Oh, and the turntable box had a 100 dollars tucked in it...woo hoo, bonus! Santa and his elves (my family) were most generous to me. A great Christmas with lots of good food too. I guess I didn't get anything exactly Zep related, but you can be sure once I get that turntable hooked up, I'll be dragging out one of my THREE copies (1 almost pristine) of Houses of the Holy. So, in a way I guess I did get some Zep for Christmas too. Hope everyone got what they wanted, be it a certain gift or the gift of being with family and friends. ................Missy
  9. Hi slave to zep, have a PM for you, but your box is full. Can you open a spot and I'll forward it? Happy Holidays! Missy

  10. I've heard a few different performances of my favorite Neil song, Cortez. The live versions vary from the classic studio version off Zuma. But, I've yet to hear one that isn't jaw dropping good to me. Case in point, this one I found on You/Tube recently. This version the tempo picks up more at the end than any other version, but it's a nice variation imo. Neil Young and Crazy Horse 1986. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYULyAF_LpQ
  11. How did I miss this exciting news? Congratulations kiwi!! It makes me happy to hear about your success. Well done, my dear friend. Now, it's time for you to go out and have some FUN! .........Missy
  12. Wow Deb, those are truly fantastic photos!! It must have been an incredible performance, and a terrific setlist too. I would have loved to have been there cheering right alongside you (and so close to the stage!). Drink some nice tea and honey for your voice, and thanks so much for sharing. missy
  13. I didn't know of this Neil Young song until recently....now I can't stop playing it....... missy Once there was an Inca Queen She gazed at her sundial All around her workers raised Golden idols to her smile The waiting years weren't hard to see Behind the tears of Mercury......."
  14. I'm looking forward to reading this new book by Geroge Case that I got delivered yesterday.
  15. That's interesting about the prices differences, maybe I should order via the UK? You know what else? His Seed of Memory album (the one that I got new for a quarter in the cut-out bin) is going for 49.95 new on Amazon here. Nice to see Terry getting his due. So you think Superlungs is his best output? I've only got the one record, but would definitely appreciate any suggestions for his other work. Thanks, missy. Another good one off Seed of Memory, Faith to Arise.
  16. I discovered Terry Reid completely by accident. Remember those giant Peaches record stores in the mid/late 1970's? I found his Seed of Memory album in the cut-out bin with that big grinning face and a price of 25 cents! I never heard of the guy, but figured for 25 cents it would be fun to see how good or bad he was. Turns out the LP had quite a few numbers I really liked. I wasn't aware of his connection to Zep at the time and to this day can't figure out why that album (that I still have) was dumped in the cut-out bin for 25 cents. .......missy Best song off the album is the title number "Seed of Memory" imo, but their are several other good ones too! After hearing this song again for the first time in over 30 years, I'm seriously considering a buy off Amazon for the CD (where it is now 17 dollars plus!) ........ missy
  17. How could I forget Joni Mitchell's Birthday (November 7, 1943)? Happy (Belated) Birthday Sweet Joni. This new slide show below reminds me of her beauty, grace, and most of all her extraordinary gift for writing and creating music (imo). ......... missy
  18. First post on the new board design, hope I get it right! Listening to Joni with Jaco backing her up on bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnLLQmRehYo (Now if I can only figure out how to get my Jimmy avatar back....)
  19. Thank-you for the friend add. Hope to see you 'round the boards! ....:) missy

  20. Hi kiwi! Thanks for the info about the smileys and the "array" message. You could be right! I usually have problems whenever I hit the "use full editor" on 1st message that I initiate, but I'm on the case with your help. :) Hey, you have such a pretty border on your page here. How do you do that? Nice! ......Missy

  21. Hi there again friend! Have you turned the corner yet? Sometimes these flu bugs can take a few days has been my experience. I like the advice you got so far from Kiwi and the others.....take it easy, drink lots of water (or whatever you can tolerate hot tea, etc.) and No working! I'll bet those bosses of yours sure miss you! But, they can fend for themselves while you're on the mend. Julie, here is my story to add to the "unhappy" thread. Maybe you will smile at this image. About a half hour ago, my very well fed cat Zelda brought me a "present" in through the little pet door we have.....a live mouse! She drops it at my feet, I scream and (of course) the mouse takes off running. More of this from me >> Fortunately, my son was here and I told him to find it ASAP and get it out!! In the interim, my other 2 cats sniffed something was up (bad pun) and gathered 'round for the fun. Three cats, a loose mouse and me standing up on my computer chair. A real sight. Anyway, after my son found the little mouse, he let him go and darned if Zelda didn't find him outside and try to bring him in again (but this time I locked the little pet door). Unfortunately all 3 cats were outside then too, so I don't think this ended well for the mouse. ............missy PS. I hope you feel better soon!
  22. Hi John, hope you are enjoying the site. I see you are a Virgo Zephead like me! (but just made the cutoff there, lol) :) missy

  23. Hi John, "only have about ten live shows", you say? Uh, that's pretty impressive! I only have 3, but they are great ones, Earls Ct '75, Seattle '77, and Knebworth '79. Currently I am playing this clip from the August 4, 1979 show, Ten Years Gone. One of their best performances of the song I believe, and only performed on the first of the 2 Knebworth concert events.
