  1. ...one of the worst days of my life. How do you mend a broken heart????
  2. You Shook Me - Led Zeppelin
  3. "Whole Lotta Love" - Led Zeppelin
  4. Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson. Screaming rock as well as soft ballads and thirty years later they still got the chops!
  5. I spent the weekend watching the Kissology Volume I DVD set. I was a KISS fan in high school and they fell out of favor with me when I got to college and they started taking their make-up off. I always considered them an average band of average talent. However, after watching those DVDs and the concerts they put on between 1975 and 1979, my God they were incredible! Great riffs, catchy and fun rock and roll and what a show! I mean, how many people can stand in 6 inch pktaform boots let alone run down a flight of stairs, leap in the air and sing and play guitar in them? I always thought Ace played the more technical guitar riffs and leads, but Paul plays quite a few himself - he's a damn fine guitar player in his own right. And I also thought Gene was there mostly for show, but watching the bass riffs he's playing while singing and doing his posing is amazing. Four VERY talented musicians that never got near the praise they deserved. Granted they never penned lyrics that were meant to be carved in stone or reflected on philosophically, but much like Van Halen, they were a great rock and roll party band that gave us numerous fun songs to grow up with. And they penned rock songs that still stand the test of time. I have a whole new respect for the band 34 years after the last time I saw them..............
  6. +1 So kind of her to share her memories with us, And it was nice to see that she is MUCH more than just a beautiful face....she's incredibly intelligent and talented as well! She killed my stereotyped vision of the "typical model"......
  7. ...wish there could be a Coverdale/Page II album.........
  8. I thought Jimmy's tone and playing that night was phenominal! Not even considering that he's 60 and hasn't been on a stage much in years.
  9. I saw them 4 years ago in Colorado. Really fun group to see in concert - and the guitar player is KILLER!
  10. +1 I remember seeing Ronnie in Omaha, 19 March 1992 during the "Mob Rules" tour with Black Sabbath. Just before the first encore a roadie rushed out onto the stage while the lights were off and replaced Ronnie's mike stand with one that was about one foot tall! The stage lights come on, the band returns to the stage and Ronnie looked around for his mike before looking down and seeing the joke that had been played on him. He laughed for a while then got down on his hands and knees and started addressing the crowd. Great moment I'll never forget and I always thought that THAT was the kind of guy he was beyond his incredible voice and talent! If you're looking down Ronnie, believe me, you are missed!

  16. I'm probably the only person on the planet...but I have NEVER had a cup of coffee. Never...ever! I saw how addicted my dad was to it when I was growing up and I guess I never wanted to follow in his footsteps that way! Man, if the coffe machine broke during the night or the electricity went off during the night and coffe wasn't ready when he got to the kitchen all hell broke loose! I do enjoy a hot cup of chocolate (with marshmellows and a cinnamon stick) during the cold winter months in Colorado and enjoy Orange Pekoe or Apple Cinnamon tea on a Sunday morning while reading the newspaper.
  17. ...maybe he wishes he had a MARTIN to try out his new amp on!
  18. In October I flew round trip from Hawaii to Colorado. Expedia didn't include my frequent flier number so I had to amnually submit the mileage in November when I saw my account didn't include the October mileage. I got my statement today and my account jumped over 50,000 miles!!! I think someone at AA must have added an extra "zero"! Woo Hoo!!
  19. Politics and nasty past comments about Zeppelin aside, ya gotta admit, the Nuge is one of the most incredible live guitar players in rock and roll (listen to Double Live Gonzo if you doubt it!)
  20. I will FOREVER be grateful to the band for releasing this recording. So professionally done, numerous formats to choose from and at a price that can't be beat! But when I saw it at the cinema, I was a little dissappointed. Before it was officially released I mentione that when i was at the show that the volume of the bass was VERY low compared to the drum and guitar, but people blew me off saying it was due to the position I was standing at in front of the stage. But even the "A Work and Progress" and "Third Eye" versions showed that the bass was indeed low during the first few numbers. Not only is it prominenty missing in "Ramble On" but I also felt it was low in "Dazed" A LOT of the Plantations were cut from the official release. The singing of "I Can't Quit You Baby" by Jason during one plantation and especially the entire intro to "Kashmir" dissappointed me. The other thing that really hit me at the concert was during "Stairway" After Robert sang his famous line "And the forests will echo with laghter", the fans in the front row sang back "Does anybody remember laughter?" which caused Robert to smile back at them. Very touching moment to me. And I was hoping for a close up of Robert's face at that moment...alas it wasn't there. Jimmy did scale back a lot of the songs during the performance...I believe mostly due to the time constraints at the venue. I think they tried to keep the songs close to the album versions just so they would have time to do more songs. I'm in the minority here, but I always thought the STH solo on the album was PERFECTION and was disappointed in the live versions (can a real fan really say MORE Jimmy playing is a bad thing?). That first "E" note of the STH solo hits me like a cattle prod to the nads and during the live versions that note is missing and it always bugged me. However at the O2, he again reformatted his solo to match the album...and in this case I was grateful. I was also dissappointed that more entire stage shots were not included and that the pace of the shots is too quick - not as bad as some other recent concert films (The Cult comes to mind), but when Jimmy is soloing, I want the camera panned on him for most of it. And on a very selfish note, I was hoping for a few more audience shots (between songs) as I was on the front/second row in front of the stage, and would have LOVED to have been immortalized on a Led Zeppelin film release. That's my rant......
  21. Yesterday was 10 December where I'm at. Last night I celebrated the 5th anniversary of the O2 concert by opening a bottle of zinfandel, a box of Utz chocolate covered pretzels, setting my surround sound to "concert" mode and cranking it to 8 and watching the concert disc of "Celebration Day". Life does not not get any better....................... Thank you Jason, John Paul, Jimmy and Robert for the early Christmas present!
  22. ...different day, same temp....89 during the day and 80 at night.
