Professionally filmed Led Zeppelin concerts
zeplz71 replied to Geezer's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
From Chris Welch's excellent peter Grant book "The Man Who Led Zeppelin": PG: "Some people were trying to videotape the Bath Festival and they’d already been told beforehand they couldn’t, so I had no qualms about throwing a bucket of water on to the tape machine which blew the whole lot up. Whoosh! It made a horrible smell and then it melted." -

The only pro Zep footage is the Peter Whitehead film, which was the only one the band authorized that day. The video screens and all other film & video cameras were ordered turned off by Peter Grant. -
Toronto 1971 Maple Leaf Gardens, new boot audience source?
zeplz71 replied to zeplz71's topic in Led Zeppelin Live
Is it actually a different source/recording or a different lineage of the existing one? Does it have the beginning of Immigrant Song? -
Hope it airs in the US soon.

Stairway Solo from TSRTS - Tone
zeplz71 replied to Christopher Lees's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
#1) Your Marshall is not the same as JP's. His were custom modified. #2) Your tubes could be worn out. I have a similar amp to Jimmy's at the time which used KT88 tubes and it has lots of overdrive. Sounds very similar to his when it's cranked up. -
Excellent article & pics of the Yardbirds playing St Xavier Prom 1968. https://www.cincinnatimagazine.com/article/in-1968-jimmy-page-and-the-yardbirds-played-at-st-xaviers-prom/

Excellent. The old one was there for such a long time. I'll be diving in to the bio section now.

On Tour With Led Zeppelin in Memphis Apr 17 1970
zeplz71 replied to SteveAJones's topic in Led Zeppelin Master Forum
I should get Philip's book. He first wrote the story about Zep in Memphis 1970 for the old L-Z.com site and it's in the timeline. https://www.ledzeppelin.com/lzprogrammes/lzrauls.html -

Good point. There were some syndicated articles in April 1977 from New Orleans with Peter Grant being interviewed. It's very possible that's when the photo was taken. There's also a photo of the whole band in New Orleans at the corner of Toulouse & Burgunday in the French Quarter which looks to be around April 77 too.
