  1. "Everyone, we be all lit up like a Christmas tree."
  2. Thank you so much to everyone involved. This is amazing. Some of my favorite parts are TYG and the acoustic set. Wow. The fantastic drum sound at the beginning inspired me to go back to the 4/28/77 audience recording. Oh my goodness . . . What a gem that is.
  3. Landover 1975 Right, we said we were gonna include some new stuff. This is another one of those very 1975, is that what it is, 1975? This is a 1975 song. It's relative to the efficiency of the motor car, but in fact a motor car is relative to the efficiency of the human body, and the human body is relative to pleasure, and so this is called Trampled Underfoot.
  4. What an amazing remaster! And the band is on fire - so locked in AND adventurous. No Quarter is a revelation. I recall when I first heard this show I dismissed it somewhat because Plant is so rough at the outset, but he gets it together and the show is fantastic. And the sound here with Grame's remaster is really something else.
  5. Landover 1975 after Kashmir. "It's not even half over yet." His friend replies "Wow." It was at 56 minutes into a three hour show.
  6. Steve you captured it perfectly. I was at only one show and the whole 3 hours was overwhelming, including every minute of the solo. The sound ricocheted all over Madison Square Garden, and the lasers and lights were over the top. Nothing like listening to it on a recording out of context. I know they seem long on the recordings, but it was what, 10 minutes out of 3 hours? And remember, the movie had just been released the prior fall and younger fans were still reeling from seeing the bow segment for the first time. At the show I attended the fans went nuts during the bow part especially. But even the rest they enjoyed. And that transition to Achilles - mindblowing ! And lest we forget, this was all after the incredible transition from WS/BMS to Kashmir. In its full context the solo was something special.
  7. That was a good series. Thanks for the reminder.
  8. The bass sounds great to me. I always prefer a Zep recording with strong bass - because Zep had only one guitar live and Jones was such an integral part of the music and the sound - his playing is such much more interesting and varied than most rock bassists, even the flashy ones. There was a Jones interview once on YouTube where he talked about how he had to play so much more than most bassists to fill in because there was only one guitar on stage. The drums are very strong here too, and I would say the same thing about the drums that I said about the bass. And this is one of the great joys of listening to Zeppelin. In the studio they can have all these guitar layers weaving in and out, while on stage it has to be much more stripped down - it is like two different bands.
  9. WOW ! Sounds fantastic, and I agree with your assessment of that moment of magic there.
  10. Sounds very promising. Keep doing what you are doing. Thanks so much.
  11. Eelgrass is already offering their copy for about $50 USD plus shipping.
  12. I have also seen data that another factor in the length of games is that the commercial breaks between innings have been getting longer.
  13. I saw game 7 of the 1965 World Series on tv the other day. It was like being in another galaxy. Koufax pitched a complete game shutout on TWO DAYS REST. He faced a lineup with Tony Oliva and Harmon Killebrew. But the best part was every batter stayed in the batter's box between pitches. None of them had to step out after EVERY PITCH to adjust some stupid velcro that makes no difference. For starting this trend, Nomar Garciaparra deserves a special place in hell. It has ruined the game. And, both pitchers took about 10 seconds after getting the ball back to throw the next pitch. Imagine that.
