  1. It certainly is a fantastic version of the show. One thing I am surprised you did not mention in your podcast is the most unique and amazing moment in the whole show - the one of kind improvised intro to Heartbreaker. In my view it is one of the coolest live Zeppelin moments. Here they are improvising a riff to introduce one of the greatest rock riffs ever, and their one time throwaway riff intro is better than the best riffs that most other bands could ever come up with. How fortunate that something so unique was captured in such quality.
  2. With the focus on bass and drums I get a very Zooma/Thunderthief feel here.
  3. Gives an interesting perspective on this track. Especially the last section. Interesting comment in YouTube about how Zeppelin was the only rock band with a Motown bass player.
  4. Fantastic ! If you think about it, just this one song shows all the reasons Zeppelin were unparalled as a hard rock band. Of course they played many other kinds of music superbly, but just thinking about hard rock - this shows they were miles ahead of anyone else then or since.
  5. June 21, 1977 Just before the famous "We've had the guitar lesson!" comment: "Play some music!" then another guy says "I'd go for that man !"
  6. I was surprised to hear Ian Gillan say in the AXS-TV Classic Albums episode that Blackmore did not like this.
  7. There is about 10 seconds of silence at the beginning of each of these. "I'd like to introduce you to Ariel Bender!"
  8. 1974. A brilliant glam rock mini opera in 5 minutes. Mott madness: From the March 1979 Ian Hunter album that brought us Cleveland Rocks and Wild East.
  9. Back then I knew nothing about the rehab until it was the big story with the 1989 album. I was fortunate to see him three times. Once in 1986, once in 1988 opening for Robert Plant, and then in 1989, right after In Step came out, with Johnny Winter opening for SRV. All the shows were great. He was truly a force of nature.
  10. LedZepFilm just posted this today. He gives more detail over at Royal Orleans.
  11. Zep, Beatles, Floyd If Yes and Tull were on the list they would be my choices with Zep.
  12. Strider thanks for the memories. I made a big mistake by not keeping my rock magazines from the 70s.
  13. I had not listened to this in quite a while. I forgot how good the sound is. The bass and drums sound amazing.
