  1. This is getting interesting. Gotta go listen to some soundboard shows to see if I can tell. I always thought of hot springs as geysers, but I can see what your saying LD. Funny is that I have been playing the song recently for my son and we were doing the battle cry and the first few lines while riding the Viking boat ride at the Norway exhibit while at EPCOT last Friday. Fun to share the great music with our children, isn't it?!?
  2. What's the old saying? More than a mouthful is a waste....you use what ya got!
  3. See, Planted, your too smart to fall for Charles' evil plan - I bet you never fell for that "if your hand is bigger than your face, you have cancer" trick either!

  5. Good for you! Any big travel plans this summer?
  6. A man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do.....all in the name of cancer prevention, of course!
  7. Here is a post from the Rush thread where Ross Halfin speaks of playing "Fly By Night" for Jimmy.... British rock photographer Ross Halfin's online diary entry for this past Monday, May 27th describes how he went to a record fair with Jimmy Page and played him Rush's Fly By Night in the car: May 27th: A very nice and sunny - and hot - Bank Holiday Monday. Did I sit in the garden and enjoy it? No, I drove to Jimmy Page's, picked him up and headed to Reading to the record fair. As I had Rush's Fly By Night in the car it was time for Jimmy to experience Anthem and Beneath, Between and Behind on the motorway. He liked the drumming and I did catch him listening to Alex Lifeson. Jimmy told me he liked La Villa Strangiato. ... Based on that experience, I'm not so sure that Bonham had heard Peart play. I was mainly asking in case SAJ (or others) had quotes he had come across in his vast collection of Zeppelin publications. I think bluecongo put it best, guess I need to ask Jason if he ever had a conversation with his dad about Peart, or if he remembers Bonzo listening to any Rush and commenting on the drumming. Thanks.
  8. I saw that tour, he did a nice job with that solo. Enjoyed that show very much. Wouldn't see a "free show" of the current version of the band now. No Steve Perry, no 'Journey' - IMO.
  9. Why can't hot springs blow? Aren't they basically geysers?
  10. ^Amen to that! How much of the 5/31/73 show is soundboard? What's the best version of it? Thanks!
  11. I was wondering the same thing...if what we have is/was those recordings, then those two didn't know what the f*ck they were doing. I LOVE the show, but the muddiness of the sound makes it difficult to listen to very often - except for the acoustic set, which is one of the best ever! Love how long and hypnotic "Going To California" is from that night!
  12. ^^ One of my favorite wines come from Australia. Gumdale Merlot...yummy! My wife has always enjoyed the Greg Norman wines from there also. How is the "Save The Kimberley" drive going? Some of my favorite bands/artists are supporting that cause. The place is truly a treasure that should remain intact, IMO.
  13. Very nice post, Strider! One small error, I believe - Danny Goldberg, not Danny Sugarman, was employed by the band for PR purposes that year. I LOVE the '73 tour shows! So many of the songs became staples over the years in their set list. Seeing how "No Quarter" first evolved into the centerpiece it became. "Celebration Day" fitting perfectly between RnR/BD, was geneous! The "flow" of the show was great too, well paced - unlike '75 and '77 where the end of the shows became somewhat bogged down by the long solos/songs. Glad we have TSRTS so the visual aspect of the show is documented too!
  14. Completely agree with that statement and SAJ's also.
  15. Personally, I LOVE our granite counter tops. We have the granite back-splash up to our cabinets also. We've had them for about 7 years. Strider, you said you like black granite best? Our granite is actually called "peacock green", but is basically black with flecks of green, blue, tan and silver in it. Sounds strange, but it gives it depth and kinda has an "under the sea" look to it. On top of our cabinets we have different sculptures and replicas of various sea life: mermaid, tropical fish, dolphin, coral, sharks and a blue crab climbing the wall...
  16. Edit to say: Glad that you have that high of an opinion of yourself, seriously - not being sarcastic. Do you have any video of your playing skills?
  17. Very nice! Welcome to the forum!
