Their first three albums didn't sell much at all, until 'Alive' was released and then "Beth" hit..... Back to teen idols(?)....Leif Garrett and Shaun Cassidy were definitely two of my sisters favorites back in the 70's. I never got into the female ones because I just didn't like that kind of music. As I said earlier, Debbie Gibson was cute and respectable because she wrote her own music and played piano - so she had my attention.

Nice timeline Sue! What makes them your 2nd fav group? For me, Nirvana and Pearl Jam were too overplayed back in the early mid-90's and I never regained my enthusiasm for their music. Their "Unplugged" disc is my favorite. I do still enjoy listening to "Frances Farmer...", "Breed", "About A Girl", "Scentless Apprentice" and many more - just don't come to mind when deciding to throw something into the car and drive around to.

Well I dressed up as Gene Simmons in 5th grade (1979) for Halloween in a pre-made costume. So if that doesn't prove they were being marketed to pre-teens, along with KISS dolls, etc. then I don't know what does. Obviously their fan base goes beyond that (past/present), but they were geared towards the 10-15 year fans in the 70's. "Christine Sixteen", enough said.
