  1. Well said. Love the new disc - everytime I listen to it, I pick up on something new that I hadn't noticed previously.
  2. I have always enjoyed the Destroyer version. Love that Plant wail and the great sound of that version. The '75 versions are ruined for me because of Percy's voice issues.
  3. And Morrison sounds pretty good for being recorded in a bathroom for most of the disc, or so I have read. Musically I do like L.A. Woman the most. You should get Morrison Hotel next, if you really like L.A. Woman. Enjoy!
  4. Agreed! I was thinking the same thing about Pagey. I just hope he does something soon also. Great disc boys!
  5. From Atom Heart Mother, there is a fantastic musical piece called Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast which is one of my favorite Floyd pieces. The title track is a bit out there, but the rest of it - Summer 0f '68 (Rick Wright song), If (Roger) and Fat Old Sun (David) is very good, in my opinion. A Saucerful... was a weak follow-up to Piper and shows the "new" Floyd line-up, for better or worse, in a learning period. More is not bad, but it is for a movie soundtrack and is not very cohesive. As far as the post Wall discs you mentioned, they all have good moments, but are not great bodies of work. Division Bell is the best of the three, Final Cut is good as individual songs - but not as a full disc to listen to from beginning to end in one sitting. Momentary does have a few good songs, but again is more David solo than a Floyd disc. Just my opinion. A few years ago I went and purchased all of their remastered discs in order of release to see the growth that took place, since I only had listened to Piper, Saucer, Meddle and everything from DSOTM on to the end. It was a fun experience to listen to good, bad and just plain weird songs. They also have some compilations with unreleased songs and different versions of others. Works, Relics and Songs To Dance To (Not sure of the title, but has a different version of Money on it) come to mind - which also have some gems. Enjoy the ride, they were a fantastic band!!
  6. I am with you - it just keeps getting better and better!! What an amazing record! Can't wait to see the finished product with artwork, etc. next week. I do hope that with TCV releasing this via youtube, people will still buy it and give the band its due $ credit. They did an amazing job putting this together and fusing the different elements from each member. Listen to Scumbag Blues with headphones and you'll hear some great playing on JPJ's part - sounds kinda like Trampled Underfoot-ish, in the left speaker. Too good!!!!!!
  7. It is hard to pick between those - probably the double neck gibson. What about the legendary ZOSO symbol, that is usually what I think of first.
  8. Great album put together by TCV. I love the build up they have been giving us. Hope they fly south to Florida during the winter months.
  9. So the question remains, will they make up the Florida shows that were cancelled due to illness??? Seems like the show is too good not to continue in some form, for more dates. Let's hope....
  10. What's the word on the sb/aud mix disc for the 5/31/73 show? I saw a new label - Neverland (?) - had released a new version, but I haven't heard it yet. Any reviews or input?
  11. Too bad "Down By The Seaside" wasn't written yet, the above picture would be a great backdrop for it.
  12. Awesome venue, Steve. Thanks to you and Ally for sharing such cool details for what must have been an amazing place to take in shows back then.
  13. Great, we are all glad to see someone escape the clutches of cancer. Isn't it Peter Criss though?
  14. Trampled Underfoot - Reunion Concert - Push, push, yeah!
  15. Released on Dec. 22?! Hell yeah! Can't believe that it hasn't played in the Orlando area at all! Closest was Vero Beach or Gainesville! I thought this was somewhat of a metropolitan area!?!
  16. That's not weird at all! It's my wife's fav. song by them too. Love some of the Barrett stuff: Lucifer Sam (about his roommates' cat), See Emily Play, the great riff in Interstellar Overdrive and his final Floyd song Jugband Blues. Good stuff!
  17. That's interesting because I have read quotes where the members thought on Dark Side... was where the band created their best as a band. I know they don't have much good to say about "Have A Cigar" being sung by Roy Harper - Roger and David have said they didn't know why or how they came to that decision back then. A lot of pressure surrounded the recording of Wish You Were Here.
  18. You are on quite a run of concerts, Wolfman! Hope them Vultures fly down south for some winter dates!!
  19. I've been diggin' the San Diego '75 version (Conspiracy Theory) of No Quarter. Love the piano and drum jam portion, sometimes I will play it for my students when we are changing classes and they are entering the room. They are like "what is THAT?"!
  20. Tampa's show last Friday was good. Very warm temperatures made the evening not as enjoyable as it could have been for an outside concert during the month of October. The set list was very similar to the other lists I have seen. The band sounded great, Bono played the part. I have seen them 4 times total from 87-now, so no new surprises.
  21. Must correct your math. Not even 9 months in out of 48, less than 20%. By the way the Dems don't get ANYTHING done as a majority. They are too easily led by others...instead of doing any leading themselves. GOP is way too self-serving with an obvious agenda. So what the f*ck can we do, except start a political party that doesn't include religious nuts, psycho racists or idiotic, easily led pussy's!?! This wasn't Obama's award given to himself, it was another misguided organization trying to make headlines - so why does HE take the heat for this and NOT THEM!?!
