  1. and both practices are wrong. I tip 20% for average service in restaurants and bars, 30+% for excellent service and similar to Strider in my favorite bars. Why? Because our system is 100% certifiable bullshit that these hard working people are getting the shaft by their employers. Nobody supplements my employees pay, why should I supplement anyone else? The only right way is servers should be paid between $15 - $20 an hour by the employer. I tended bar through college and the markup on food and liquor is LUDICROUS! The reason why so many restaurants and bars fail is not through lack of profit, it is due to the nature of most people who open such establishments are irresponsible with their money. My aunt & uncle owned restaurants for years and made so much cash it was insane. I asked my uncle why they succeeded when so many others failed and his answer surprised me. He told me when you own a restaurant / bar you or someone you trust must be there 100% of the time when open and you have to treat it as a business, not a social event. So when these jackasses who own these business try to claim their expenses are too high they are 100% lying their asses off. They could easily pay staff $20 an hour and still make serious bank. When a wholesale bottle of Jack costs $17 and they sell it for $6 an ounce...do the math. Or how about a nice steak dinner with all the sides and desert? Cost for that baby is about $3 wholesale yet the punters pay $50+ unless you go to some shitty buffet. Tipping IS anti-American however I will continue to do so (for waitstaff) as long as their greedy employers keep screwing them over. edit: I guess socialism is pretty popular in America and has been for decades because just about every restaurant will include a 15 - 20% gratuity in the check for parties of 6 or greater. Has been that way since the 70's.
  2. I really do not understand all of this going on about the mix of the album as I always thought it sounded great, perfect for the material. Now ITTOD had a bad mix on Carouselambra but the rest of the album sounded good to me. To each their own though.
  3. Every time I have seen Jimmy play live, April 10th 77', March 1985, October 1988, 95' & 98' he has been excellent and pretty much spot on. All performances were different but all excellent. Out of those I would place his playing from late 95' - 99' as his best, post Zep playing as he was truly in the stratosphere during those 5 years as a player. I may also be the exception here but I prefer Jimmy's #3 Norlan LP to his #1 & #2 59' LP's. IMO the tone of that Norlan and the way he plays it outshines the 59's but that is just my opinion FWIW.
  4. Too bad this happened in 95' instead of 2015, then we would have had it on video, been on the news cycle for a week, and have every late night host goofing on it, including slow-mo footage with sound effects. Though I can imagine old Robert slapping Jimmy upside the guliver and exclaiming, "Jesus Christ mate, get yer shite together, your 51 not 21 ya silly twat. Next time I will replace your ass with Buckethead you drunkie bastard!"
  5. I still can't figure out why people left MySpace for Facebook. The algorithms MySpace used were light years ahead of Facebook which has always looked and functioned like shit. MySpace had better usability, better features, did not have spam-bots, and to my knowledge, did not sell user data. When Facebook first came out I thought this will go nowhere, looks like shit, functions like shit, and MySpace made Facebook look like the 18th century version of a real crappy MySpace. Anyway, I never had a problem on MySpace, Facebook is a cluster f***. Facebook sucks
  6. https://reusablemenstrualcup.com/menstrual-cup-faqs/tips-the-ziggy-cup/ Personally, I don't understand all the fuss. I never had a problem getting down with the sweet lovin when the red river starts to flow, I just felt immensely blessed that a woman would even allow me the opportunity to access the honey pot in the first place.
  7. I hate cell phones, worst invention ever. Turned 8 hour employees into 24/7 employees yet pay is still the same. People are on them while driving, shopping, eating, etc. Just crazy. I have an iPhone X plus but it is provided by my work, I don't own a cell phone personally. When the day comes my employer no longer provides this evil device I will go out and get a goddamned Jitterbug or some similar shit. Only will need it to send and receive calls and maybe an occasional text. I use a REAL computer for everything else as I don't have ambition to go either blind or nearsighted due to browsing on such a small screen. BTW, did I mention I hate cell phones?
  8. Oh com on now, everyone know Satan prefers redheads.
  9. It was the 70's, no one knew there would be amateur recordings of almost every show in shitty to good quality. Typically speaking if someone made a mistake or had a crap show no one cared as the audience was so F'ed up they likely would not have noticed anyway. Band arguments back then typically were not about show quality as compared to simple personality conflicts, money issues, etc. As the boys all got on relatively well and they were making a shit ton of loot, what was there to argue about? Of course today you really cannot get away with a sub-par performance due to social media etc. but in 77'...hell yes, no worries there.
  10. FAKE NEWS!!! Everyone knows the moon landings were faked. It was old Kubrick in a basement and camera tricks, everyone knows that
  11. Bowler hat? I don't recall Bonzo ever wearing a bowler hat on the 77' tour. I thought he only wore the bowler hat on the 75' tour??? If memory serves Bonzo wore the fishing hat off and on but that is the only hat I recall him wearing in 77'. Then there was the weird druid clown outfit he wore at Oakland but that was the exception. BTW can't blame you for linking the white dragon suit with Jimmy in 77' as that was his classic look for that tour. However, I hate that stupid suit. White was the LAST color Jimmy should have worn in 77' as he was so pale and it just exemplified his emaciated state. The stormtrooper gear he wore in Chicago was different and funky. TBH I never liked the glam rock costumes jimmy wore from 73' - 77' but that's just my preference.
  12. I prefer snooping on the more interesting personal moments such as WIAWSNB & BCW. If you can't sing about rogering your wife's sister, what's the point?
  13. Another movie with serious inaccuracies. Doc's family is quite upset at the portrayal he was estranged from his family when he in fact had a normal, strong connection with his family. BTW I know a LOT of Italians, young, old, mobbed up, etc. and none of them ever acted like that.
  14. Are you trying to say movies such as Blazing Saddles or Silver Streak could not be made today?
  15. Almost 40" of snow and a low of -1. We broke all snowfall records here. I believe I have done two weeks worth of workouts over the course of yesterday & today in regard to shoveling snow. I am sore in places I forgot I still had.
  16. For me Jonesy's keys sounded silly. Much of Zeps keyboard stuff he used the mellotron, Hammond C3, electric piano, or piano. The synths of the 80's were great for Depeshe, Yazoo, and the other New Wave bands but Zep needed the orchestration for some of those songs. Kashmir is a perfect example. I would have preferred they abandoned the keys and put Jones on bass for Kashmir, would have sounded better than those crappy synths.
  17. Give me a break, you are like the waiter that treats a table like crap the whole night and then sweetens up at the end trying to get a good tip. No sale amigo. You don't go about disrespecting people the majority of a post and then say, "agree to disagree" as if that will negate all your prior nastiness. Adios
  18. You know Gibson, I do not insult you yet you seem to have a real problem with the opinion of others. Unless you can reply to my post like an educated, civilized adult, please do not bother. Have a great day
  19. I believe you are missing what I am saying. Let me explain: Page beginning in 75' started to change his approach to playing in general. Page 68' - 73' was pretty much sticking with Pentatonic & blues scales for most of his structuring and then starting on HOTH to throw in a jazz scale (Dorian)in here and there (NQ). However, in his live approach beginning in 75' he begins to incorporate some pretty radical phrasings and dissonant chordings he never used before including obscure scales. I believe this was due to his attending a guitar clinic hosted by John McLaughlin in 74' who had pioneered the use of such with Miles Davis and Mahavishnu Orchestra. By 77' he was using these techniques even more, the problem was his ability to pull it off, coherently, fluidly was suffering due to his injury in 75' and later his addictions. However, on the night's he did pull it off he did indeed, IMO, play better overall than in 73' due to the greater diversity he was utilizing. A great example of this succeeding would be the 6-22-77 OTHAFA solo. I believe this is what Jimmy was trying to achieve and finally did. That is just one example, another would be his NQ solos on March 18th & 23rd 75'. Of course Tempe was a shit-show but from what I heard of Seattle, it was strong. I did not hear poor articulation or phrasing in any of the songs played in the video. The only complaints I have is TSRTS was played rather restrained by Page as well as SA, but both, IMO, were played well. I really liked his showing in both OTHAFA & NFBM. Just being honest but if you disagree, that is your right but the fact is some of those dissonant, weird runs he does beginning in 75' he was doing on purpose. If you check out McLaughlin's playing on Bitches Brew especially you will hear Mac doing similar techniques, though admittedly, in a much more coherent and focused manner. As posted above if Jimmy would have been clean, the musical direction he was going, he would have been amazing. As it was we need to remember, he has reinvented his playing style and approach three times (75', 83', and 95' to a lesser degree) which is damn impressive for any guitarist. If there is one phrase I can use to describe Jimmy, it would be always willing to take a chance in a live setting. How many professional players can make that claim?
  20. According to Led Zeppelin: All the Songs, it is Bonham on backing vocal.
  21. I know exactly what you mean MATE as I have seen Van Halen several times and have long tired of listening to EVH's frustrated, forced, "out of ideas" tapping and dive bombing the exact same in almost every song they play. Shit, you would think old EVH could at least change the arrangement of his solo's from time to time to sound interesting but no. Dude came up with a couple of brilliant ideas back in 77' and never changed a note. Sad.
  22. and you have lost your mind. Jimmy was not sloppy on SA, in fact he plays the solo's cleaner on this version than most so I have no clue what the hell you keep on about. I am 50 years old, have been playing guitar since 15, and have played in several professional bands. I will be the first to point out shitty Page playing (Ft. Worth 77' a good example) but I will also point out when he plays well and the video of those four songs shows a very on point Page, especially for 77'. I cannot comment on the rest of the show (except STH which he played brilliantly), but those four songs above sounded very good. Maybe you are more of a note perfect, exactly as the records are played kinda guy and that is your right. For me, when an artist plays it exactly as on the records, that is a lame ass, lazy, safe as hell player which I have zero interest in listening to.
  23. Yes please, PM me the link and thank you. Great job!!!
