Wolfman Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Watched the three hour documentary on the Eagles last night. It's split into two parts from their beginnings to their split in 1980 and then their reunion in 1994. The first part is much more entertaining. There are several mentions and a few clips of Zeppelin in it too. Check it out! Quote

Strider Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 And here, as well: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/19625-la-from-the-byrds-to-the-eagles/?fromsearch=1 It's been discussed ad nauseum, hehe. I'd rather reevaluate Electric Light Orchestra...or the Stranglers. Quote

FireOpal Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 What's the Zep connection to the Eagles? Just that both bands were enormously popular in the 70s? Quote
mstork Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 What's the Zep connection to the Eagles? Just that both bands were enormously popular in the 70s? Mainly Glyn Johns, who engineered LZI and produced the first two Eagles LPs. Quote
Walter Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 ...and that the Eagles (Henley and Frey) say they were the harder partying band than Zeppelin back in the 70's. Quote
tomloge Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Not a big Eagles fan, but I do like them. I thought the documentary was great. Watched it a bunch of times while channel surfing. Quote
Pagefan55 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I just watched this documentary for the first time last week -- excellent. Quote
Disco Duck Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 What's the Zep connection to the Eagles? Just that both bands were enormously popular in the 70s? From what I've read, Joe Walsh and Jimmy Page were friendly back then. Quote
