mickey g Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 There's one for sale, don't know if it's a real soundboard. Quote
Sue Dounim Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 God I hope there is. My year would be made. Quote
Sue Dounim Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 You say there's one for sale. Could you PM me a link as to where? Quote
mickey g Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 Trying to find out if it's real. From something called CTS: "Cosmic Top Secret Laboratories" . Quote
The Only Way To Fly Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Is that the 2 show gig in NYC? A SB of that evening's show would be pretty killer. 1970 is prob my fav year of shows. Quote
wilsoncb420 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 there probably is a soundboard out there. the chances of getting it without paying big bucks for it are slim to NONE. i'd bet there is, or was, a soundboard tape of both shows. god i hope if there is, it is still playable. Quote

(and imo they only had one early peak and one latter peak, LA 77) Quote
Strider Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 ^^^ I had a feeling which is why I didn't allow myself to get excited. A tape like that wouldn't be offered on e-bay or public channels, in my opinion. It would be strictly hush-hush thru covert secret operations. Like a Freezer caper. But, yeah...if either the afternoon or evening show of 9/19/70 came out in Soundboard, I would declare a Worldwide Zeppelin Holiday!!! Especially the evening show. Quote
mickey g Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 It was my first Zeppelin concert. I sat two rows right behind Jimmy's amps. I would like to know if it's better sound quality than "One More for the Road" or the other boots. Then, maybe I'd be tempted to blow the $45 on it. Quote
The Only Way To Fly Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I can tell you that one more for the road is really pretty good. I enjoyed it a lot esp the WLL Medley & the acoustic set. Quote
Strider Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 (edited) I have three versions of the 9/19/70 evening show and they all sound pretty smilar in quality. There is only so much you can do to the tape in the state it was in after sitting in a closet for 30 years. 1. "Requiem" 2. "One More For the Road" 3. "Silently Praying for Jimi" Edited September 15, 2013 by Strider Quote

Yep, I had it crankin' yesterday. It seemed to get better as it went on, but I'm sure the 9 Hoegaardens & a fattie helped. Quote

Strider Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Technically, Silently Praying for Jimi is the title EVSD gave to the afternoon show. Well, the EVSD set I have contains both the afternoon and evening shows on four discs and it's called Silently Praying for Jimi. Quote

Especially the evening show. actually, I have seen tapes of this magnitude go on sites like ebay, but usually it is because the people want it to go to the copyright holder. They would put it online, for example, as "two reels that say LZ 19/9/70" sold as is, and I don't know whats it contains. very rare though Edited September 15, 2013 by wilsoncb420 Quote
mrledhed Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Who has these types of tapes? Aside from the group and their management, I understand there's some kind of cartel that controls this stuff. Quote
Nutrocker Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I'd be inclined to say the name of the 'cartel' is Empress Valley Supreme Discs Quote

He also combined two sources for the afternoon show to make it as complete as possible and called 'A Bit Frightening'. Quote
The Only Way To Fly Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 This is one of my favorite shows - I really love the gigs from 1970 - the acoustic stuff with all the Plant chatter in between songs & the WLL medleys where they just kind of let it happen. If I only had a time machine! Quote
