Cookie0024
Someone tell Vogue to check the dates in their photo captions. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant performing in 1976?
TheGreatOne
Those pants look cool but seriously, what douchebag pays or charges €995 for 1 pair of pants. I could have $50 million in bank and would still shop at Walmart
sk8rat
jimmy and robert were definitely fashion pioneers early on, jimmy especially. I prefer their pre 1973 style the best. jimmy's scarfs are the best . on a side note, if anyone knows where I can get a similar blue shirt like the one jimmy is wearing when they did dazed and confused live, let me know
Mithril46
What's interesting is that Jimmy and Robert in particular pre-73' often wore clothes that were so far from the rock star norm that they were never really in style or out of style, making them kind of timeless. Of course there are some examples where they really look kind of funky, but so what, they weren't trying to score shallow points with their fans anyway. And Vogue like other fashion mags has items at ridiculous prices, like a silk hanky, $700,etc..
anniemouse
Those early Band of Joy photographs are fantastic. You can see that these were people who were not following the norm. Must have been some really interesting shops in the midlands and these clothes must have been affordable. No £1000 jackets for those people. Also the fashion they were wearing would have been so out there. I can imagine that caused a stir in town.
mickey g
Where's the argyle sweater vest ?
Mithril46
Actually I could have sworn in some interview Page was asked about that vest(way after Zep) and I'm pretty sure he mentioned he still has it. Zexpert Steve if he is paying attention would probably know for sure. And the BOJ and Zep, fashion wise were just wild, not just psychedelic but even wearing stuff 100-200 ?? Yrs old.. Or repros, anyway.

luvlz2
They still inspire me, just picked up a couple of Zep t-shirts at the official store not too long ago that I wear proudly!
FavouriteTipple
If this article saves just one superficial, unoriginal, narcissistic Vogue-reading nincompoop from being a fashion slave, then that's OK by me.
