EddieShouldHaveListened Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I was wondering if anyone knew what the longest version is available with the medleys. I thought there was one from their Japanese 71' tour thats 39 mins but I could be mistaken. The longest one I currently have is from 9/29/71 Osaka Quote
pinky Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 (edited) I was understood it was 9/which ever night had "Friends"/71, in Japan and was it a long medley with songs like Boogie Chillun, Twist and Shout, Good Times, Bad Times, The Lemon Song, etc... Edited October 24, 2008 by pinky Quote
SuperDave Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I'm pretty certain that's from Osaka on 9/29/71. That's a long version of WLL. Not sure if the longest, but one of them Quote
NYC6880 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Its either the 9/23 or 9/29 Japan gig from 71. I believe the WLL medley from the 23rd is close to 40 minutes long and not to mention f'n amazing. Quote
The Rover Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I prefer the length of WLL I saw in Aug. of 1970.... that was just right... not too long.... not too short.... Sorry.... I don't have the time.... but there was no medely included, as I remember it. It was tight and perfectly perfomed and sung. Quote
mos6507 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 My favorite WLL is their final live song ever in Berlin 1980 which has no medleys, just that extended freakout section with JPJ going to down on bass. That has got to be over 15 minutes of pure WLL. Quote
greenman Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Its 23/9/71 at 36 mins, either that or the 29th would be my pick as the best ever version aswell. Quote

I believe they were starting to explore more with a new sound, as JPJ's MONSTER bass really shows. Just amazing. Quote
