  2. If it is a 77 board (which seems unlikely based on what we've heard but who knows), then my hope is for Greensboro, Baton Rouge, any of the NY shows, any of the LA shows (preferably one of the two non-Millard ones), Pontiac, or any show we haven't heard yet. I've always had a soft spot for the 77 tour. Jimmy's a shadow of his former self, sure, and Jonesy's Alembic sounds awful and twangy (especially on the boards). But Robert is miles better than he was in 75 and most of 73 and Bonzo is killing it most nights. Add to that the visual extravagance of it, the setlist, and the fact that it was their biggest ever tour. It's Zeppelin in all of their majestic, excessive, over the top, crazy, coked out glory. I can definitely understand why others hate it, but I don't mind it (minus one or two truly awful performances like Tempe and a couple of the Landover shows). The existence of the 1980 tour says otherwise. In all seriousness, Jimmy being fucked up is one thing, but having both Jimmy AND Bonzo being fucked up? No thank you.

  4. On a youtube clip....must be taken from a local newspaper of the time.
  5. Early mention of J P Jones in Record Mirror from 3 October 1964.
  6. In this version of Heartbreaker Page plays something I don't think I ever heard before in this spot at 4:50 -5:05. Also the full stops at 6:44 and 6:48 are cool.
  7. I don’t think Jason will make Jimmy’s Christmas card list this year 😀 Loose talk from Jason though,he should know better...
  8. It is directly relevant ding dong. The cathedral is owned by the French government, not the Roman Catholic Church. Maintenance is the responsibility of The French Ministry of Culture, and they were not meeting their fiduciary obligations. That's when the Catholic church stepped in to provide minimum essential funding for the repairs that were in progress. Fast forward to 2050, when Muslims are not only the majority in France but across the European Union. Where do you think the majority of ever diminishing capital for culture will be invested? 1,000+ year old Christian houses of worship or brand new mosques? Thirty years from today, does Paris remain the same perennial tourist destination that it is now when it's population increases from 20% to 50% Muslim? This is not Islamophobic commentary, it's the future. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/sep/26/muslim-majority-in-france-projected-in-40-years/
  9. Magistrates' courts In relation to criminal matters, Section 127 of the Magistrates Court Act 1980 states that normally: a magistrates’ court shall not try an information or hear a complaint unless the information was laid, or the complaint made, within 6 months from the time when the offence was committed, or the matter of complaint arose. 'information is laid for the purposes of section 127 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980 when it is received at the office of the clerk to the justices for the relevant area'. It is not necessary for the information to be personally received by a justice of the peace or by the clerk of the justices. Higher courts Unlike other European countries, the United Kingdom has no statute of limitations for any criminal offence in the higher courts. Jimmy's previous cocaine possession charges were tried in the higher courts (Crown Court). Cases are sent to the Crown Court by the magistrates' court (this can happen if the magistrates feel that a higher sentence should be given than they have the power to set). Cases at Crown Court are tried by a jury, consisting of 12 people from the general public. UK laws controlling drug use are complicated but there are three main statutes regulating the availability of drugs in the UK: The Misuse of Drugs Act (1971), The Medicines Act (1968) and The Psychoactive Substances Act (2016). The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 This act is intended to prevent the non-medical use of certain drugs. For this reason it controls not just medicinal drugs (which will also be in the Medicines Act) but also drugs with no current medical use. Drugs subject to this Act are known as ‘controlled’ drugs. The law defines a series of offences including: unlawful supply; intent to supply, import or export and unlawful production. The main difference from the Medicines Act is that the Misuse of Drugs Act also prohibits unlawful possession. To enforce this law the police have the power to stop, detain and search people on ‘reasonable suspicion’ that they are in possession of a controlled drug. The Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) divides drugs into three classes as follows: Class A: These include: cocaine and crack, ecstasy, heroin, LSD, methadone, methamphetamine (crystal meth), fresh and prepared magic mushrooms. Class B: These include: amphetamine (not methamphetamine), barbiturates, codeine, ketamine, synthetic cannabinoids such as Spice and cannabis (medicinal cannabis is now legal in the UK and can be prescribed by specialist doctors from 1st November 2018). All cathinone derivatives, including mephedrone, methylone, methedrone and MDPV were brought under control as Class B substances in 2010. Class C: These include: anabolic steroids, minor tranquillisers or benzodiazepines, GBL and GHB, khat and BZP. Class A drugs are treated by the law as the most dangerous. Offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act can include: Possession of a controlled drug. Possession with intent to supply another person. Production, cultivation or manufacture of controlled drugs. Supplying another person with a controlled drug. Offering to supply another person with a controlled drug. Import or export of controlled drugs. Allowing premises you occupy or manage to be used for the consumption of certain controlled drugs (smoking of cannabis or opium but not use of other controlled drugs) or supply or production of any controlled drug. Certain controlled drugs such as amphetamines, barbiturates, methadone, minor tranquillisers and occasionally heroin can be obtained through a legitimate doctor’s prescription. In such cases their possession is not illegal. Offences committed under the 1971 Act in relation to a temporary class drug are subject to the following maximum penalties – 14 years’ imprisonment and an unlimited fine on indictment and 6 months’ imprisonment and a £5,000 fine on summary conviction.

  11. The show was phenomenal by itself; it was even more special because Roger Waters joined Nick’s band for “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun”! 😎 More later...
  12. Well Don Felder was an official Eagle, that’s why he was able to successfully sue them when he got fired. Joe Walsh came later.
  13. I believe you're right, anniemouse. It was a smash in a car accident, right? 1972? If you're right I think it was during a break in tours.
  14. Just went and threw it at his hands. That's some rivalry and heated competition. I would say Led Zeppelin won because of that. Was this where he went out on stage behind him stripping on stage? Even played a stripper's stanza on drums. They tried to catch Bonzo, but couldn't. I read it too. Just think, if not for the Stones, Alvin Lee could have came up with Sticky Fingers for a title. I'm a writer, but Richard Cole is one hell of a writer!
  15. Anything to share that is relevant to the thread topic?
  16. Blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great win
  17. Would the statute of limitations on such a crime have run out by now? Does the UK even have a statute of limitation?
  18. What makes it even worse is I believe Bonham threw a cup of OJ at Alvin while he was on-stage playing guitar and soaked both him & guitar. For god's sake he could have electrocuted Lee. A prank is one thing but that was way over the line.
  19. Count me in too, lol 😆🎸👍
