  1. Sounds like a load of hogwash. I'm pretty sure the only song Jimmy brought out the violin bow for was Dazed and Confused.
  2. I love yacht rock. Sorry, not sorry. Sometimes I want Achilles Last Stand, sometimes I want Baby Come Back. This is probably my favorite of the yacht rock/soft rock genre:
  3. Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from December 11, 1976. The most recent song played was this: Great singer, great songwriter, absolute trash pile of a human being.
  4. Bears/Packers in primetime tonight at Lambeau Field. Aaron Rodgers needs 7 or 8 TDs to become the all-time franchise leader, which he won't knock out in this game, though it would be funny as hell if he did. If the Packers win, Aaron Rodgers will be tied with Brett Favre for most wins by any QB over the Bears (23). So, you know, that should be fun.
  5. This iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts is pretty GD good. Getting to spend time with my sister was even better.
  6. I love me some Sinatra. I have "September In the Rain" by four different artists; Marty Robbins, Jo Stafford, Frankie Laine, and of course, Ol' Blue Eyes.
  7. Every other Friday, I treat myself to a frappuccino from Starbucks, so I'll be getting one this evening. I don't allow myself many luxuries, but that's one of them. My sister laughs at me for spending $6 on a coffee drink, but it's good, and I only do it 2-3 times a month. I don't think that's that bad. I know people who get multiple drinks from Starbucks every day. I wish I had that kind of scratch. LOL
  8. Michael Nesmith died today, leaving Mickey Dolenz as the last surviving member of The Monkees. I thought they were pretty good for what started out as a manufactured band. I still think it hilarious that Jimi Hendrix was their opening act once. Those teenyboppers got quite the musical education that night.
  9. The weather cooperated today, and I was able to get some much-needed raking done. I like raking leaves, but when it's gray and dreary, I hate it. It finally cleared up after lunch, so I knocked it out then.
  10. Dude. Chill. Alcohol and nicotine are legal, but restricted by age. A 12-year-old can't walk into a gas station and buy a bottle of Bud and a pack of Marlboros. That's what I was talking about. Legalize it and tax it like you would any vice. That way, people who want to partake in it can, provided they're old enough, and your locality's coffers get a much needed boost of extra tax revenue. A win-win all around.
  11. The problem I have with AMLoR is it sounds dated. It's loaded with drum machines and synthesizers, so when you hear any song from it, you immediately peg it as a late 80s album. That's not bad per se, but it doesn't have the same timeless quality that their other albums have. Of course, Gilmour did most of that album by himself, so it didn't have the same creative input from Nick Mason and Rick Wright that The Division Bell did. I agree, lyrics aren't his forte, but's not too terrible. LOL
  12. The Final Cut is Roger Waters having a nervous breakdown. It's self-indulgent pap. The Wall is barely listenable for me, outside of a few songs. Meddle --> Animals was the band at their best. The last two albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell are both good albums, but they're not as good as what the four of them could do together when they pulled their heads out of their asses and got to work.
  13. Right, and cocaine comes from coca leaves, but in order to get opiates, you have to synthesize the addictive chemical in the sap of said poppy plant. My point is that marijuana shouldn't be classed with hard drugs. Legalize it, then tax the sh!t out of it. Treat it like alcohol and nicotine.
  14. A small square of Dove dark chocolate and a Diet Pepsi. Very exciting. 🤣 🤣 🤣
  15. Nothing at the moment, but earlier I was watching Aerial America on Smithsonian Channel.
  16. I don't do drugs, I don't even like taking Advil or Tylenol unless I absolutely have to, but I've never understood why weed hasn't been legalized. I can understand keeping the hard stuff illegal, like crack, heroin, and meth, but weed? It's a plant. I'm not suggesting you put a dispensary across the street from the local grammar school, but given what we've seen from the opioid epidemic, stoned on the couch watching The Wall is far preferable to tweaked out and knocking over a gas station.
