  1. I just finished breakfast; a bagel with crunchy peanut butter.
  2. I think Led Zeppelin, much like other groups/artists at the time, realized that no matter how many signs they put up saying they didn't want the shows recorded, it was going to happen anyway. You'd have to cavity search everyone that came in to make sure no one was sneaking in tapes, microphones, etc., and that just wasn't a thing back then. It's not even a thing today, and the ability to bootleg concerts is considerably easier now. Everyone's got an iPhone or Android stuck in the air during the show, so short of confiscating everyone's cell phones before the concert, people will record segments, if not the whole shebang, that way.
  3. Presence is a good album, but I wouldn't say it's a great album, IMO. There are three songs on it that I think are truly amazing; Nobody's Fault But Mine, Achilles Last Stand, and Tea For One. The rest, for me, are filler. I don't dislike them, but I don't like them either. After the genius that was Physical Graffiti, it's kind of a letdown.
  4. Old school: Chicago, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band New school: Beastie Boys, Garbage, U2, Coldplay
  5. Remarkably unseasonable for this time of year. I haven't had to wear a coat in three days.
  6. ^^ I don't drink, so I'd skip the wine, but all the rest of that sounds amazing. Certainly better than my bagel with crunchy peanut butter I'm about to eat. LOL
  7. It says a lot that in a country as divided as the United States is, everyone could agree that Betty White was a goddamn national treasure. You never heard a whiff of anything bad about her, not ever. It sucks that she didn't make it to 100, but 99 is a damn good run all the same. I'm glad that she knew how loved, valued, and admired she was, and I hope for her family, that provides some peace and solace in the coming days and weeks.
  8. David Crosby was in The Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash. He's not a folk singer, though all three bands dabbled with that genre. He's in for a damn good reason. As for why Ted Nugent isn't in, I don't know, and frankly, I don't give a damn. He had one halfway decent song 45 years ago, and that's it. His politics, as disgusting, abhorrent, and frankly ignorant as they are, have about as much bearing on his non-inclusion as the color of the sky does. Anyway, this isn't the thread for whining about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
  9. If the Packers win Sunday and the Cardinals beat the Cowboys, they'll have the #1 seed in the NFC locked up. That sure would be swell.
  10. My sister is on Winter Break right now (she's a teacher), so her and I had Subway for lunch and ate at a local park. It's not often we can eat outside in late December, so we wanted to take advantage of it. Right now, I'm drinking a Diet Dr. Pepper.
  11. In no way typical for this time of year. I've got all my windows wide open, and I ate lunch outside today, in the park. In late December. I'm not complaining, it could be worse, but it's still not what should be going on.
  12. This is probably the best the weather could possibly be for the last week of December.
  13. ^^ That was amazing. Mariah Carey did a really good version of it on her Christmas album back in 1994. Nothing beats the original, though.
  14. I do indeed hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season this year, no matter what you celebrate. If tomorrow is just Saturday for you, I hope your Saturday is glorious.
  15. Hopefully, Rudolph's nose can power Santa through the clouds or else the little kids in my subdivision will be very unhappy in the morning. I'm enjoying the hell out of those temperatures for this weekend, however!
  16. It may be Christmas Eve, but I found an open Starbucks for my bi-monthly coffee treat, so I'm having that with a couple of shortbread cookies and a bottle of water. I find drinking water along with the coffee staves off any caffeine headaches that might occur.
  17. My Mom did indeed come home from the hospital today. It wasn't because of the Big Nasty, thankfully. She's glad to be in more comfortable surroundings, eating food with more flavor. She said if she sees another plate or bowl of grits again in her natural life, she'll scream. LOL
