  1. Tessio sleeps with the fishes. THIS IS NOT A HOAX! This time, Abe Vigoda really is dead. Passed away at age 94. Goodbye Sal Tessio and Sgt. Fish! ? http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/abe-vigoda-dead-dies-barney-miller-godfather-1201689081/
  2. Exactly why I have never liked Lebron in the first place and never wanted him to win a damn thing. Can't wait until he's out of the league. Makes Kobe look selfless in comparison.
  3. I've been saying that since last season. Anyone who can't see how great Golden State are is blind.

I'll take your recommendations under advisement. FYI: I'm just a guy who doesn't watch that much tv to begin with, so I am very particular about what I watch when I do have time. "The Wire" and "Mad Men" have been about the only two shows in the past 20 years that I felt rewarded viewing from beginning to end. Many other shows I lose interest after a couple seasons.
  5. Joyeux anniversaire jb126! A toast to your sports prowess and may you have a lovely day.
  6. I completely forgot about them repeating in 04-05...that was when they beat Carolina and Philadelphia back to back. How did I forget that? Bad error on my part.
  7. Soooo...once again New England fails to repeat as champions, something the acknowledged truly great dynastic teams have done...the 1960s Bart Starr-led Green Bay Packers, the 1970s Terry Bradshaw-led Pittsburgh Steelers (even the Miami Dolphins repeated), and the 1980s Joe Montana-led San Francisco 49ers.

Sorry but Michael Bay is anathema to me. I cannot stand anything he touches.
  9. Nobody correctly picked both Conference Championship Games. Most of us went 1-1 and four went 0-2 for Sunday. Playoff Standings After 10 Games 1. jb126: 8-2 2. 10. New England seemingly spent the entire fourth quarter in Denver's red-zone and came away with squadoosh. Until the end with that Gronkzilla 4th down miracle and then the touchdown. But that was a lame 2-point play the Patriots drew up. Hard to believe Gostkowski missed that PAT that made the 2-point necessary. But then, if New England just kicks a field goal on any one of their two earlier drives to the red-zone it wouldn't have mattered. New England's offensive line was terrible, which led to a shaky day for Brady. Belichick seemed off his game, too. Denver outcoached him. A little lustre off Belichick. A Carolina-Denver Super Bowl would put me to sleep. Come on Arizona.
  11. ^^^Strangely creepy, hehe. Is that a Bundt cake?
  12. It's an ugly game so far. Brady with two interceptions...you rarely see that happen.
  13. If New England didn't bring its defense it's going to be a rough day.
  14. He'll retire when he's good and ready. Stop being in such a rush and enjoy the ride. Says the boor.
  15. ^^^Thanks Walter. Now if Rick would ever wake up.
  16. My head says New England and Carolina but my heart wants New England and Arizona. Wherever KB is, I hope he's able to watch and enjoy his Patriots today.
  17. So is Rick. Come on LedZeppfan77, stop dithering and get your picks and points in! Stocksontherocks appears to be one of those mysterious people who join for a day and then vanish.
  18. New England 27 Denver 13 (40) Camolina 30 Arizona 23 (53)
  19. Listening to Leadbelly (it's his birthday today!!!) and definitely NOT shoveling snow! Sorry I can't help you, ebk.
  20. Need your points, buddy.
  21. Wishing Virginia, ebk, Andy, and all others out in the Mid-Atlantic belt good luck during Snowmegeddon 2016! Hope you all make it safely through the weekend.
  22. Leaving for where? Arizona? That's a damn shame. It still rubs me the wrong way the way the Dodgers left Vero Beach...and I'm not even a fan.
  23. ^^^I shall keep an eye out for "Twixt". I know many consider James Joyce the father of modern literature, but to me it's Edgar Allen Poe. As is my wont, I have begun two books simultaneously. Which one I read on a given night depends on my mood. Antony Beevor has written numerous books on World War II, including what I feel is the best book on Stalingrad. This has the promising beginnings of another gem. If you have any interest in the Battle of the Bulge and WWII, you will want to read this book. Did a recent event with Mary Karr and she proved to be very charming. Having already read her enjoyable trio of coming-of-age memoirs "The Liars' Club", "Cherry", and "Lit", I was already predisposed to want to read her latest.
  24. Hell...Florida...same thing. Eat it, pc and Walter, hahaha.
  25. ^^^Thank you for that timely reminder of Poe's genius, Patrycja. As a fan of UPA's work, I am especially thankful that you included their animated short of "The Tell-Tale Heart"...I had no idea it was on YouTube!!!
