  1. Happy Thanksgiving wishes to the Forum! ~
  2. Got a head start on the cooking tonight so that my mom could have the kitchen all to herself tomorrow Thanksgiving Day. I made my usual pumpkin-sherry bread and pumpkin-sherry soup. Also baked a pan of planted's Magic Bars. Since I am in Washington for this Thanksgiving, I picked up some local Washington wine and beer.
  3. Ahhhh, those good ol' college parties...where the female flesh is plentiful, nubile, and drunk. My Thanksgiving picks... Detroit Dallas Green Bay
  4. The weather I left behind in Los Angeles. The weather I arrived to in upper Washington.
  5. Hey guys...I know Thanksgiving week is a busy time so I just wanted to remind everyone that you don't have to get all your picks in by Thursday morning. Just pick the Thanksgiving Day games and you can pick the rest of the games later. Thank you for your participation...it's been a helluva season. Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble-Gobble!

    Theatre

I am not a regular reader of the NY Post, so I don't catch Michael Riedel's theatre reviews. Maybe he is a douchebag. I understand your point about critics throwing stones and all, but on the other hand, if people are storming out and demanding refunds, it is the critic's duty to report that news. With theatre being so expensive, I would want to know if actors knew their lines or were being fed lines through techno-gadgets before putting down money for tickets. I am not really a Mamet fan...he is hit-and-miss a lot of the time. This has the smell of a big miss. I also have a policy of avoiding plays where the characters spend a lot of time looking at a laptop or wear bluetooth thingamajigs. Hopefully, this is just a temporary setback for Al Pacino. I know he is getting up there in age, but the last time I saw him in person he was in full control of his faculties and riveting. So, I am sure he will bounce back.

  8. jabe is our Week 11 winner...Congratulations! In the big news in regards to the season standings, Bong-Man took a tumble. After cruising along in second-place for weeks, he was jumped by jb126 this week after a dismal 5-9 week. apantherfrommd is humming along in first place, but jb126 is closing the gap. Andy and jb are also the first of our group to hit 100 or more wins for the season. In other football pool news, Mrs. Walter bested her husband. 9. You knew with two weeks to prepare Rex Ryan would have a blitz scheme to confuse Brady. But you still have to tackle. And your offense has to score more than 13 points. Because even if you hit on most of your blitzes, Brady will still beat you on a couple and force your offense to score touchdowns to keep up. I also question why Ryan didn't put EJ Manuel in at QB at the end when it was clear that Taylor was hurt and couldn't put any zip on the ball. Champions find a way and that's what the Patriots did tonight. Now it's a short week for New England and they go to one of the toughest places to play this week...Denver. Denver could be the team to beat New England. Especially as New England lost more players to injury tonight and their ranks are getting thin.
  10. Aw shucks, Walter. None of our guys won yesterday.
  11. It's fun to watch Rex Ryan when he's angry. Stupid refs cost Patriots a touchdown.
  12. A very warm and happy birthday wish to FireOpal! A woman with great taste in actors and one of the first to warmly receive me on this forum, she is one of the people that made the forum a nice place to visit. Hope you celebrate your day in style, FireOpal. Cheers!
  13. You are thinking of the planned documentary centered around the 1970 Royal Albert Hall show. That's the main reason that concert was professionally filmed and recorded. But things were moving so fast for the band at that time, with recording sessions and tours following in rapid succession, that they never could sit still long enough to work on a proper documentary. The RAH footage was put away and eventually forgotten about until it was resurrected for the 2003 DVD.
  14. How the mighty have fallen. Holy crap...another shitty week of picks.
  15. ^^^Forget it...I'm not debasing this thread with another silly beef. There's already plenty of that in the rest of the Forum. The Falcons have fallen and can't get up.
  16. It's one thing to lose to the Steelers. No shame in that, especially in a close game. Even losing to Minnesota is excusable when Adrian Peterson has the kind of game he had. But losing to Detroit? The Raiders should be ashamed. After looking like the team's fortunes were looking up, three straight losses...each more ugly than the last...have the Raider's back in the dumps.
  17. Why oh why did I pick Miami?
  18. All you have to do is google "Freezer's Revenge".
  19. I think I spaced out and missed their most recent gig in L.A. It's been a very hectic couple of months.
  20. +1 Utter dog shite. You don't mess with a classic. Who are these bozos to try and "improve" a song that needed none to begin with? Ronnie James Dio is rolling in his grave. Are there no more great singers in heavy metal? Everyone either sounds like Cookie Monster or an American Idol reject.
