  1. Chillum pointing out that rain and cloud are forecast for the next week or so! Hail, Thor! 🌨️
  2. Helios-worshipping, Sol-loving savages! πŸ˜„ Ey, that weather forecast dunt look too bad, though, Chillum - cheers for that! πŸ‘
  3. Was Bonham sensitive enough to care about being called 'The Beast' or did he secretly enjoy it, a bit? I dunno.
  4. Ok, I've not seen Close Encounters, E.T., Ben Hur, Jurassic Park, It's A Wonderful Life, Wizard Of Oz, Ghost, The Sound Of Music, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Toy Story or Willie Wonka either! Or Freddie Got Fingered, for that matter…
  5. Bad, Chillumpuffer, bad! Only a couple of days ago, weather forecast was promising thunder and rain for today - but it's cloudless blue skies, godshites it! Who do I sacrifice to Thor to get a storm around here?!
  6. Yeah, I haven't seen Gone With The Wind either. Or Forrest Gump. Or Star Wars (any of em). Or Lord of the Rings (any of em). Or the Blues Brothers, Animal House, Scarface, the Wizard of Oz, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Snow White, Bambi and probably several others on these lists. I thought I liked films til I read this!
  7. When Jenner came up with the smallpox vaccine, some English idiots refused to have it because they thought it would literally turn them into cows. At least no one's that daft these days, eh...
  8. Could be worse - could be Pennebaker's film of Bowie's last Ziggy gig. That's not only a dog's dinner, it's the slop on the deck when the dog's puked it's dinner back up.
  9. I'd doubt that Robert was a 'huge star' in the UK in 1985, tbh. Most people knew who the crap pop stars on Band Aid were, but the same people would barely even have a vague memory of Big Log on TOTPs. If they even had a distant residual memory of Zeppelin from days of yore, I doubt they'd've been able to name the singer. It wasn't like the US, where Zeppelin were on the radio a lot and had some profile in wider popular culture - Zeppelin barely had any crossover fame in the UK. They weren't like, say, the Stones, where mums and dads or the man in the pub were aware of them even if they didn't like them. Looking at the cast of clods that were on Do They Know It's Xmas, I suspect that more people would've recognised Marilyn than Robert!
  10. Is it cos the dope basically coats your lungs with shit and the virus can't get through the crud to attack the tissue? Talk about lesser of two evils! πŸ˜‰
  11. Ah, fuq, you're right, man. Utter nightmare. Cue every thick clod in a five-minute radius infesting their back gardens for 14 hours straight, blasting stupid duff-duff chart music so there's no escape in any room of my house, bellowing oafs gobbing from five ft away cos they can't take two pints, dummy mummies alternating between shrieking laughter and dismal crying as they fall out of their hot tubs, pissed as farts, while ignoring their feral brats who're screaming as if they're being skinned alive. And a few hours later, it all starts again. Can't think why I hate summer...
  12. Nowhere. There's no point - I'd only have to come back to this sinkhole...πŸ˜‰
  13. My favourite word is 'jiggle'...you know what I'm saying.
  14. πŸ˜„ Ey, you're not wrong, Chillum! Mind you, is he ever happy? If I owned a pub, I'd call it 'The Yorkshire Bastard'...there's a clue there! πŸ˜‰
  15. I'd never heard any suggestion that Robert was present for this, either at the time or since, and a quick go on the youtubes shows he's not in either the video or the 28-minute 'making of' documentary either. Hmm. I'm thinking that the only connection he had was owning one of those same oversized blanket overcoats that half of them were wearing at the time... Happy to be proved wrong, though!
  16. This was Ronno's last live performance - he was terminally ill here and only had a year left. This version is a bit better than the original tv broadcast - Mick's in more shots and they've re-recorded the bit where he missed the change and threw off Bowie's timing! And we don't get The Lord's Prayer...
  17. Yeh - worth sitting through it just to see Tex and Sadie get what they were due.
  18. I really wouldn't've thought so - it was all pop chart pillocks, wasn't it?
  19. Yeh - opened the curtains at quarter to seven and it might as well have been two in the afternoon! Bastard...
  20. Context, Chillum - India, Australia fine for the human, but Yorkshire man made for bleak, cold North. I start sweltering as soon as I'm over the border and into the baking deserts of Derbyshire...πŸ˜‰
  21. 😁 Hot drinks in this?! Oh, oh, weer's me parasol...or summat. Glad you're getting some sun, Chillum - you've had a bit of a wait for it, eh, mate!
  22. Truth. The last year or so's absolutely proved this to me. I live in an end-terrace (row house) and every last one of the clods on here revealed themselves to be full-on mardy adult babies over covid. The extent of the entitled hissy, bratty toddlerdom was quite jaw-dropping.
