  1. I just read where there was a fire last night at Boleskine House and much of it has been destroyed.
  2. ^ That sounds amazing, dd! Nothing too cray-cray going on. We will have breakfast here with Mrs. Walter's parents. Scrambled eggs, bacon, cinnamon raisin toast, biscuits and sausage gravy. Later we're having everyone over for dinner. Very simple: Maple glazed ham, twice-baked potatoes, grilled asparagus, steamed green beans, Mrs. Walter's cornbread and French rolls.
  3. ^ Don't hate, I watch 'em too! Fantasy Football Live...trying to tie any loose ends heading into Championship Sunday!
  4. I agree with your last paragraph. The Stones fan base doesn't seem to grow, unlike Zeppelin. Every generation that has come along after 1980 has embraced Zeppelin's music, where as the Stones fan base seems to be decreasing with each generation. They're still huge, obliviously, but I don't think their catalog will have the lasting impact in the future.

    U2

Agreed, Res! Probably my favorite disc of theirs.
  6. U2: Innocence and Experience Live in Paris "End of the World" currently playing - so good live, the crowd is in the palm of their hands.

    U2

Who has watched the U2 concert from Paris that has been showing on HBO? Pretty epic, IMO. They have upped their show yet again, with an interactive double decker catwalk. The set was amazing, spanning their career and taking a musical journey at the same time. I'm not that familiar with their last release, I have it on my phone but haven't listened to it more than twice. I was burned out on them for awhile. Seeing this performance has rejuvenated my interest in them. If they were to bring this show around here, I'd definitely see them yet again. Hopefully in an arena setting this time.
  8. In all fairness, look at the conditions he and the band are playing in. Point taken though. He was much more energetic when we saw him 2 months prior to that gig. Not like STP/VR Scott, but still better than that. Amazon is out of stock of most discs Scott was on.
  9. Very cool, gentlemen! This is why this is such a great community!
  10. This. Agree with you about Matt and Izzy. Izzy wrote most of the songs. He doesn't want anything to do with the circus that is GnR. Adler isn't an option either, he's still too unstable. So this is as good as it's gonna get. Not sure I will take a chance on seeing them - it'll depend on the venue and ticket price, I guess. Saw them a number of times before the break-up, got burned by Axl the last time, when they were touring with Metallica.
  11. You never gave us a review of the concert you and your nephew attended, Strider! Just finished hanging up a large pile of laundry. Getting ready to run some errands in preparation for Christmas, then waiting for my deliveries to arrive before Mrs. Walter comes home and intercepts them! She's been wanting this ring for awhile, even to the point where she's been sending me emails with the advertisements. I'm acting like I never even saw them. Had Walter Jr talk to her to get her ring size - again - last week and it is scheduled to arrive here today. gotta get going..
  12. Saw it in 3-D IMAX yesterday morning. Large reclining seats and the theatre was only about half-full. There was a guy hacking, snorting and coughing just down the aisle from us - very annoying! No phone issues though, sorry to hear you had those issues P. As for the movie, I thought it was awesome! Enjoyed every moment, never left my seat. Loved how they tied in the story with earlier, thought the casting was close to perfect. Harrison Ford stole the movie, IMO. He was absolutely spot on appearing as Han Solo again. Much better than when he was Indiana Jones for the last movie of that series. The cinematography was incredible. I hope JJ stays on for the next one! I would go see it again in a heartbeat. ????

    A Lousy Sunday

Ditto. What a piece of sh!t! Did you leave your table just long enough for him to grab and run? Sorry this happened to you redrum!
  14. That Pittsburgh/Denver game was something else! What an emotional ride today - (looks like) gonna be playing for 2 more fantasy championships next week out of 3 leagues. Wild day with very close games!
  15. Great finish to the Giants game - Steelers/Broncos are heating up already 14-7 Denver. Scoreless in SF for redrum. Doug Baldwin is running wild in Seattle with 2 td's already.
  16. Smh. Cam is pounding them and with Washington beating up the Bills it looks the Redskins will be taking the NFC LEast lead with a 7-7 record.

    UFC

True, redrum. Do you think they stopped it too early? Even though he wasn't hitting back, Cerrone was blocking a lot of those punches - especially after he was taken down to the mat.
  20. Looks like we are heading to the theatre tomorrow morning to see this in 3D IMAX. Should be fun!

  24. Happy Birthday, Sam! Hope it's a great day for you!
